Re: Official Budget Thread
hmm i am more like 40k for about 230 guests and i am afraid that wont be enough! we are fortunate to have both of our parents pay for half, so in reality we only have to save 20k!

Re: Official Budget Thread
I don't think anyone did anything wrong. I'm going with a lot of unknown people I searched very hard to find:
Reception: $9,800 or so DJ: $350 Jazz Trio: $300 Photo: $1150 Video: $700-800 Flowers: $870 Makeup: $40-$60 Jewelry: $50-$70 Hair: Nothing (little sister is a hairdresser) Nails: Little sis Corset: $35 (fredricks of hollywood sale) Shoes: $50 Tiara: $65 Dress: Mom's making it, about $100 for material Veil: $7 (mom's making it) Honeymoon: $1700, plus $1500 spending money BMs gifts: about $40 each (i have 6, got monogramed spa wraps and totes, and their jewelery) GMs gifts: about $25 each (6, got eddie bauer duffel bags and monogrammed keychain) Limo - no, just renting luxury car, $155 FG, RG gifts: $40 Parents Gifts: $100 Invitations: $180 (made myself) Favors: $70 Cake card box: $30 Cake boxes for people to take cake home in: $60 Table cameras: $50 Officiant: Friend of family
I think that's everything. I haven't added it all up, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't go over $16,000 (except for HM)

My budget doesn't include the rings, and only includes airfare for honeymoon (we are getting a timeshare for free in Hawaii but will need a lot of spending money for food and excursions).
Here is how I am saving money: I got a great price from the HTH. My first choice was Atlantica, but there is a huge price difference. If we were to have it somewhere in that price range we would have to cut our guest list in half. I am doing my own centerpieces. I now estimate it will cost $15 per table. Compare that to $100 a table flower arrangements. For 20 tables it add up! A friend of mine is doing my make-up. She does make-up at ULTA so she knows what she is doing, and it will be free. I got my shoes from JC Penney, not some expensive wedding shop. I got a lot of stuff from ebay! I am trying to make and do as much as I can myself (for example save the dates and programs) We are doing a donation favor! These are all ways we are saving money. A little here and there really adds up. I feel like I am still spending a lot of money, but for the amount of guests I'm having I think I'm doing good!
