Hi Ladies, I want to start this thread so we can talk about DeSeversky and share thoughts and ideas. I know there are 2 others getting married at DeSeversky so far.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
I have 196 on my guest list! We're having a sit down in the garden room and terrace room which can hold a max of 230. Then we'll head into the ballroom. Hopefully some people can't attend!

Hi Guys,
I booked Deseversky for November 06. Just wanted to say how helpful this thread has been for me!!
I'm wondering if anyone can give DJ recommendations for Deseversky... I visited Vinny from High Voltage, he was great, but I think I want to see another one before I decide.
Any recommendations??
Thanks!

Oh my god girls... I totally forgot to post the pics... Let me try now!
I booked Vinny from High Voltage...he's got lots of great reviews on this site, and he came recommended to me by two gals that had him do their weddings at DeSeversky. And cheap!!! I don't think you can get a better price!

Pictures are awesome prinses!
I used Music by Michael for my DJ there and he was outstanding. He is a very classy guy and not the 'yo yo yo type' person and was wonderful to work with. I would definitely use him again. I only met one DJ and knew right away he was perfect. Also he had tons and tons of positive reviews from other LIW brides.
I've heard great things about Music by Michael too. Unfortunately he was already booked for my date.

Oh that stinks! But on a positive note a few of my friends and fellow LIW brides used DJ Vinny and he was awesome. He kept the crowd movin and groovin!

CMeg:
Are you having your ceremony at the DeSeversky? Does it *have* to start at 7?
One of the reasons we picked the Deseversky is because we could start the reception at any time. We're having an extended cocktail hour from 5:30-7 and adding and hour onto the reception from 7-11:30. This way people aren't stuck with nothing to do.
I'm getting married at a church, and I figured that I was having so many OOT people that I couldn't just leave them hanging. My ceremony time is 2:30. If I miss out on my cocktail hour for a bit to take pictures, its okay because the Deseverksy has such beautiful photo-ops.

Mclane: Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I have already booked everything for 7 PM (and I'm also getting married in a church). I think we are going to suck it up and pay to have drinks for the rather large brial party and immediate family. It gives me peace of mind to know people won't be sitting around with nothing to do. I just won't be able to buy groceries for the next 6 months!
thanks for posting! everything looks awesome! i cant wait to see it in person, but i have to wait until February when i can get there!

Welcome, glad you have joined our thread!
We booked Vinny. We only needed a DJ for 3 hours and he was willing to work with us (other DJs I spoke with had a 4 hr min.)

Mclane: Thanks so much for the suggestion. My FH and I are going to go to Double Diamond this week. I have read a lot of great reviews on them. They seem like they are very professional. Do you happen to know if they have the 50 passenger coach busses? I hear you about your FH wanting to invite everyone in the world mine is the same. He wants to invite friends we have not seen in over a year. We were at about 190 but I managed to get it down to 150.
Cmegali: Thanks for letting me know about your experience with Manny. I am glad I am not the only one. I am also kind of surprised because he knows we wanted to book with them and he told us to call him back because he was too busy with customers. We never called though thinking he would call us but he didn't. I am sure their service will be good and there prices are phenomenal but this experience has just left a bad taste in my mouth. That's a good idea to use the garden and terrace room. I am trying to fit everyone in the ballroom but it's nice to know their are other options in case we end up having more people then I anticipate. Right now I am praying for 130!!!
Thanks for the pics princes! hope everyone's planning is going well.

Re: Official DeSeversky Center Thread
The chocolate fountain pricing was a bit ridiculous so I didn't get one. I think with all the dipping items was $10pp extra. I was already paying $10pp for the dessert cafe so I wasn't going to spend another $1000 on the chocolate fountain. I think if you provide your own dipping items (not sure why you would want that hassle the week of the wedding) it was $5 per person. I think they really need to think about lowering that. Seems like so much to me.
