That area looked too small and right up into the guests for the DJ but I guess if you don't put as many tables in that spot. I've heard they can also put the DJ by the bar area in the Grand Ballroom, not the back by the T room, where the door is to go outside. I'd really have to take another look.
I'd hate to have the DJ speakers booming right onto tables. I wonder if they space out the speakers somewhat like a surround sound? I am actually meeting Steve from Imagine Entertainment tonight who manages the DJ's for Ariana Studios/Wedding Plaza. I did the complete package with Doug Manor and Ariana Studios only I am using the house florist and hired Amanda Picone for my photography. So, we shall see what he has to say tonight.
It wasn't small at all and I had a huge DJ set up along with giant plasmas, lighting, and everything. I'm trying to find a pic...also the speakers face towards the dance floor so there is no issue with the sound going towards the tables.

Hey Ladies I am seriously considering booking DM for Aug 2010. The only reason why I did not sign the contract there on the spot was because I wanted to taste their food first!!I am so excited to have found something that I am happy with. I have seen over 15 halls and this was the first one where I was really completely happy with.
The only thing is I was not offered a package with everything included when I went in to look at the place. I don't know if it is because I am booking so late or if it is not offered anymore.

Just wondering if any DM brides got their wedding cake from Cascon bakery, DM's house bakery. We went there and it costs extra for the fondant. Most wedding cake ideas these days are only in fondant and looks like I have to use buttercream or pay extra for fondant. Where can I get ideas for buttercream cakes? If you spend extra for the fondant, how much was it?

Are you referring to the Complete Wedding Package offered by Ariana Studios aka The Wedding Plaza? I went with that package as they work with DM. I got the entire reception with everything included for 100 guests minimum costing $16,999. You can also get a package from Ariana including the vendors and pay the reception separately.
The package includes:
-the reception 5 hours include CH
-Photography. I am anal about that so I got Amanda Picone
-Video
-DJ
-invites
-flowers (I am using DM's house florist Cress instead which I recommend.
-2 limos
-free tux rental for the groom
Go to arianastudios.com and check out the Complete wedding package that includes the reception or the other packages w/out the hall.
Good luck

That doesn't seem too bad. I have to look in to it. 17,000 was my budget including my dress : ( so I may have to do some negotiating.

My cake was Fondant from Cascon. I think the fondant charge was $150.

Really? $150? I went there. They said it was too early. FH and I were taking a drive anyhow. I asked about the fondant and they warded me off saying it would be more expensive. I thought it was going to be a lot more than that. .
My theme is bows and pearls. Bows can't be made nicely with buttercream so I def need a nice big fondant bow!

I dunno what he may be charging for it now but I can't imagine it went up by that much.
