Funny, but why does everyone seem to have Sam as their BM? I don't even know Sam. I know Thomas but I have Chris. Does anyone have Chris?

Not getting married at DM but sorry to hear about that Gazebo being torn down.

I wanted to go to the DM dinner with that psychic, March 6th Friday night. I thought it would be fun. He's like a John Edwards. They cancelled it due to lack of interest. :(

Thanks posting the video on You Tube. I didn't think of that and sometimes I have to strain my brain to remember.

for anyone getting married at the douglaston manor they have torn down the pergola on the golf course side. I'm so upset with this. I'm gonna have to go there nad check that out. Tom says there is now a metal gazebo there which is not as nice.

I found another You Tube video with more on the inside and back part. I do like that Pergola. I can't believe they tore it down.

so i met with tom from cresas florist, i loved him. i thought the prices were a little high but lets see what he makes up for me to see if its worth it.


for anyone getting married at the douglaston manor Tom from cress floristjust informed me that they have torn down the pergola on the golf course side. I'm so upset with this. I'm gonna have to go there nad check that out. Tom says there is now a metal gazebo there which is not as nice. Has anyone seen it? Ihope my Bm Sam is going to make this up to me.

im not sure how i feel about it either. i feel a little better about it now that i got to see a picture of it. the way my florist was describing it compared to the way it use to be was making me very nervous. who do you have as your bm? ihave sam but i just heard he may not be there anymore. im gonna have to call theretomorrow.

so i just found out through augustbride and have confirmed with the douglaston manor that my bm Sam is no longer with them. I now have Chris as my BM. Does anyone else have him. Is he good?

Yes, I have Chris. As I wrote earlier, seems everyone has Sam. I only met Sam once so not sure why he seemed to have all the brides, at least on this forum.

I love Chris to death. So does my fiancee. He is funny/witty and very down to earth. I have NO IDEA what he would be like as a Maitre D on the day of the wedding. I've passed in at DM and seen him in action but didn't pay too much attention. I guess if he was really bad, they would let him go?!

BTW, Augustbride aka Natalie, I think you've eased everyone's fears about this new Gazebo. I'm getting married at a church but your photos are beautiful. Glad you put them up for others on here to see! You have been very helpful to me and us all in general. How is married life? :)

Any suggestions on where to get my hair done for my wedding day? I want an updo. I live in Oceanside so anywhere near the south shore would do. I was thinking of Maximus in Merrick.

So we're in the middle of looking at florists right now and Cress was on our list because i think they're one of the Douglaston's reccomended. Did you look at anyone else before you booked Cress?

Right now we've met with Flowers By Gina in Fresh Meadows, and we're meeting with Designs by Rose next week. I'm also thinking of looking at Flowers by Michele.

Let me know if you guys have any feedback on any of these!

Cress florist was the only florist i met with. I had met with them because its the florist that douglaston manor for their in house stuff. I thought their prices were reasonable and Tom the owner was great. Definitly meet with him. He made me up a couple of samples and the one a choose was exactly what I was envisioning for my wedding.

I'm getting married at the DM 08/01/10! I also booked the DM/ Arianna Studios package. Sam was originally my Bm, but he's gone, so now Chris is my BM. My guest list is at 150. I'm considering going with Cress Florists. Still working on my invites, I decided to shop around for them on my own instead of getting them thru Wedding Plaza. Any suggestions for nice affordable invites, placecards, RSVPs and a name sign??

I did my invites throught birchcraftinvites. The are nice invitations at an affordable price. Definitly checkout crest florist, Tom the owner is awesome.
