Hey girls! I am about to book with East Wind but I am just curious about the chair covers....is anyone ordering them from an outside vendor, or using the ones that East Wind offers? TIA

I was looking into chair covers and then decided against them (their chairs and furniture are all in good condition)
But when I did check some prices the vendor that East Wind uses was the CHEAPEST price I found anyhow!
Good Luck!

Re: Official EAST WIND Thread
We got samples from The Rolling Pin this weekend, and then the next day got a letter from EW indicating that we will be called soon to have menu meeting, and also to think about cakes.
I went on Rolling Pin's website and looked at their filling list, and one that we asked to try was 'white chocolate mousse.' We tried 4 and that was the best.
But it's not listed on the choices provided by EW. Many others, some that sound pricey or more unusual than what we want.
Does anyone know if they'll let us have this flavor without an up charge?
Also, another cake question - have any EW brides had square tiers? is that an upcharge?

Re: Official EAST WIND Thread
When I went to the EW showcase last month, Rolling Pin had a book of photographs showing the 'free' cakes and also had a list of the types of fillings and cake you could get for 'free'. I believe there were square cakes, but I wasn't really up to that step yet so I didn't pay as much attention. The owner was there and he said if I had any questions, I could call him directly, so definitely give him a call. Also, they had sample cupcakes which were absolutely delicious!

Thanks! We are getting buttercream and he told us he could make it as smooth as how fondant looks.

Does anyone know whether EW provides you with stands to put the table numbers in? I know they don't give you place cards.

Are you girls (or did any of you) add extras to your reception? If so what and would you reccomend it?

Re: Official EAST WIND Thread
Are any of you blocking rooms at a hotel other than East Wind? I know that EW is out of a lot of people's price range for a crash room after a wedding.
If so, are you providing any kind of transportation?

We are also blocked at the hilton garden inn in riverhead. We aren't providing transportation. Most ppl have already told us they want to stay at eastwind.

We blocked off rooms at the East Wind and the Holiday Inn Express. The Holiday Inn will provide a shuttle.
