I am just using flowers on my cake. But if you are looking for a desi themed cake topper. There are some on this site. Indian Wedding Cake Toppers

Generally speaking I have no idea.
I sent these 2 pictures which I found on indiangarment.com to stitch my wedding saree blouse.
Homeindia.com has some nice blouses if you want to check it out. Don't think the back is there though

Page 1 has a bunch of fashion links .. I would suggest looking through those to find the choli you like best. Here's a list of some more sites too: Clothing Sites

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
wow this picture is beautiful!Hi, im new to LI weddings, but I was hoping to get some advice on photographers.
I just went to meet 2 photographers this weekend - Patken and an indian photograher.
Both their prices were comparable, but I love Patkens work. The only problem is that im not sure if Patken will be able to capture the important parts of my wedding since it is a Hindu wedding.
Patken says they have done numerous indian weddings, but im still unsure.
Alot of the indian photograhers ive seen take all the traditional poses, but not that really stike me.
Are there indian brides out there that can help me out? I will be having a hindu ceremony so its important that they capture all the right moments on both photo and video.
Any suggesstions for Photographers would be helpful!
thanks!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
welcome to LIW!!i had the same reservations like you about 'indian photgraphers'--their pictures were a little too 'posey' for my taste. I dont think you should worry about non-indian photographers not being able to get all the shots that you want, especially since many photographers do have experience w/indian weddings, and you can tell them exactly what shots you want beforehand.
i would definitely suggest also taking a look at:

and if youre really into photojournalism:

good luck!

If you're interested in ordering them from India. Riniko referred me to this woman and she was great to work with. I ordered organza pouches and small lakh work mirrors. I loved them!!! She can get them to you pretty quickly depending on the qty you need.

Must Play List??
Wanted to see if any of you girls put together a must-play list for your DJ's. Specifically, Hindi/Punjabi/Bhangra songs. Please share!!
Thanks!
I hired vocalists (a husband and wife team) and had them sing songs from:
Kuch Kuch, DDLJ, Kal ho na ho, Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Ghum, Dil to Pagal Hai, Mohabatein, Dev Das
The bridal party for the reception walked into
a really good song by Shukbhir (sorry cant remember the name) and our parents walked into Chaye Chaye.
Sorry if my spelling is off, I dont speak hindi, just listen to the music!
Hope this helps!
