Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
oh also we had a small wedding- about 120 people, and so we didn't have a food issue as far as i heard- everyone got lots to eat! the only thing is i would have liked a doggie bag because we were hungry that night *(afternoon reception) :)

Bakhura has REALLY good food!! My dad goes there all the time and always brings some back for me :) A friend of mine used them for his e-party and everyone LOVED the food!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I actually went to the MAC counter at Macy's. I tried samples at different places, but they just don't have enough make-up to match your skin tone exactly.I went for a quick trial and then made the appointment with one particular girl, Kaitlyn at Macys in Queens Center.
I'll admit, everyone raved about my make-up.
I have a tip:
bring photos so you can show the girls what type of make-up you want. I borrowed my friend's magazine from London which has tons of photos to choose from.
Also, I would take someone whose taste YOU TRUST along to tell the girl if you need anything as they are doing it. They tend not to let you see the make-up until its completely done.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hi Everyone,My name is Sheethal and I'm getting married on Sept 4, 2006. I think this desi thread is a great idea for girls like me who always need a second opinion.
I was wondering if any of you guys have used DJ Sharad/DJ Unlimited South Asia. My fiance and I were thinking of going with them b/c we've heard so much about them and we have attended 2 weddings in which they were the DJ.
Also we're having difficulty finding a church for our Orthodox Christian ceremony in Nassau County. I've always wanted to get married in a big, beautiful church but if you're not Catholic, they won't let you.
Thanks,
Sheethal

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hey Sheethal welcome!I'm using DJ Sharad for my wedding next May. I'm using DJ Sharad himself b/c ive seen him do many weddings and hes very professional and is able to work any kind of crowd.
But I know he does have other DJs that he usually sends for weddings, so if you want him specifically, make sure you let him know.
I also know two other DJs that are good - DJ Suhil and DJ Sunil. Let me know if you want their contact info.
Good Luck!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Thanks for the tips. We met with Sharad after he had Ashish as DJ and Arun as MC for my fiance's cousin's wedding. They seemed pretty good as well. Had the whole crowd on the dance floor.I agree Sharad was very professional. Could you send me DJ Suhil and Sunil's contact info too?
TIA!
