Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Forgot to mention that Santoor in Glen Oaks also has great food. We order from them all the time for family/holiday parties.
Not sure if they have any deals w/ wedding halls though.

When you book Sharad, you dont always get Sharad himself, you may get one of his associates, so get that clear w/ him. Ive heard good things bout him and have been to events he's done-hes good. But Im sure there are others out there, if I hear of anyone I will post.

ETS: Ive also heard Tandoor's food is good, my SIL had that for her wedding and they were happy with it, but that was a few years ago.

Did you ask Unique Emprorium if they had any? Or if they work with someone often?

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

I used an Indian person for my girls hair.
I paid for all the girls to have their hair done (updos) at $25 each only!! They all had long hair (halfway down their back or to their waist). I found this Indian woman who came to the hotel at 5:30am and did their hair. For the girls who had their hair down to their waist she charged $35. Her name is Archita.

The girls did their own makeup since they were all pretty decent at it.

Archita Upadhyaya
Holtsville, NY

I used Oksana for my makeup and Hair Genie for my hair.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread

Help! I am getting married in NJ and I need to find someone to do my hair, makeup, and help me put on my sari and lengha.

I am willing to travel to a salon in the morning to do my hair and makeup b/c my wedding only starts at 3, but after the wedding I would need someone to come to my hall to redo my hair and just touch up my makeup.
But most importantly I need someone to put on my outfits for me.

Do you guys know anyone in NJ?

TIA!
