Are there enough of us to have our own official Inn at NHP thread? I feel like we should have one . . . thoughts?

Yep! I found out at the showcase that they have a built in uplighting system. Jeanine quoted me $500 for it which is, from what I understand, a lot less expensive then doing it through a DJ.
Since when? We were just there the other day and I didn't see anything! We have it booked through our DJ. . .

Jeanine answered my last couple of emails within a couple of hours.
I'm not sure when they started doing it and I haven't actually seen it either but I e-mailed Jeanine about it yesterday and she confirmed they have it and that they charge $500 for it.

I emailed our bm this afternoon to ask her to update us about any changes they've made to their wedding services since we booked such a long time ago! Hopefully she'll have some information. Thanks for the heads up!!

Honestly I'm kind of annoyed they didn't tell us . . . I think we are paying through the nose for it with our dj.

I'm thinking of calling my DJ to see if maybe they can throw something else in instead and I will get the uplighting from the Inn. I assume the uplighting in the Inn is what they use during the showcases?? I vaguely remember remember the Inn telling me they were going to have uplighting when I booked last year.

I'm pretty sure we booked in 12/08 and it seems like a lot has changed since then, so we just need to be brought up to speed. THey def didn't mention uplighting, but did say it looked good. They also recommended lighting companies to us, so they def weren't doing it themselves at the time. Also, we met with Body Rock, one of the house djs, after a showcase and they told us it was their uplighting. . . . that was a while ago though.

You girls ROCK with all the info!! I'm totally looking into the uplighting. Anyone have their food tasting yet? I want to schedule ours but I want to wait as long as possible but I might just burst if we don't do it soon!

I just scheduled my tasting.
A few more FYIs for the Jewish brides. I just asked and they can provide the challah, they have hora chairs, and they have 5 easels you can use for the ketubah and anything else you want to hang.

I had my tasting already! We did it right after we booked. The food was delicious!!!!!

We did our tasting right after we left a deposit. It was amazing!!
I spoke to our bm about the uplighting and she said they are offering it. Also, I asked for info on any other changes since we booked and she said we can have shrimp oreganata instead of stuffed shrimp, whichever you prefer.
Honestly, the tasting was amazing. And so fun. Do that soon!!
I think we are going to keep the uplighting with our DJ because we also have a lighting technician coming as part of our package and he is going to control it throughout the night - he's going to change the colors per our instruction etc. And we are paying just a little more than the $500 the Inn quotes. We aren't definite yet though . . . but I don't think we have much choice.

I am waiting until the latest to do my tasting!! The anticipation is killing me though so probably will schedule it next month. Thanks for the updates girls!! Once it gets closer I am totally calling and asking a billion questions. hahaha who do I call for the cake? I am so not thinking of that either. lol whats wrong with me?

However, my episode called 'Voice of Reason' is repeating Saturday, March 13th at 3pm if you wanted to catch it. hehehe debating if I should have them come to the Inn the day of. Hmmmm! You can do the tasting whenever you want. they told us that if we wanted the contract to be contingent upon the tasting we'd have to do it within 30 days of booking. We didn't really care about that. I loved the idea of having a special occasion.
One reason for having it CLOSE to the wedding is because then the tasting is fresh on your mind when you choose the menu, but I feel like we'll have so much going on closer to the wedding. We also never have an e-party or anything, so I think it'll be a fun celebration.
Cake tastings you can do any time too. I think the said it had to be before a few weeks before, which is pretty obvious. If you want, you can go directly to the bakeries in question.
Girls who had their tastings already- what was it like? Do they provide alcohol?
