Are there enough of us to have our own official Inn at NHP thread? I feel like we should have one . . . thoughts?

Wow Michelle you have all the extras! So exciting! Do you mind me asking....did they give you any of the upgrades for free? I mean you have soooo many people I think they should throw in something. I want to do the martini upgrade and the to go carts. And I would love to do the seafood boat but I just really don't have all the funds and was hoping maybe ONE they would throw in. I also hear they usually give the guest something to go for free. What are your thoughts on this/suggestions? Can't wait to heair all about your wedding after you get back from your honey. Review please! hahaha just teasing.

Hi ladies!

Did you all choose house DJs? I feel kind of compelled to because I know the Inn has that speaker system over the dance floor and also the plasmas, so i was thinking it's probably a good idea to hire someone who knows the setup. Thoughts?

Another question, spin-off of Michelle, what 'extras' did you pay for, what was 'thrown in'

hey Ladies!!
I'm so excited to share ideas with you!! I'm getting married June 4th, so things are starting to get a little hectic now!! i could scream.

I haven't spoken too much to them at the Inn, Basically they said that everything gets finalized the month before the wedding., and not to worry.
All the major venders are booked
Dj: Bavura (jazz trio for cocktail hour, dj and uplighting)
Photographer: Thomas Paul
Flowers: Flowers by Brian

I am actually spending the night at the bed and breakfast the night before with the a few of the bridesmaid and my mom. We will be getting ready there the next morning. #1 the place is gorgeous and its a lot more spacious than most hotels. #2 the price is unbeatable #3 they will be delivering breakfast. My FH and I will also spend the night there.

the B&B is really nice. The first floor has a bed and a couch and then the second floor has a another room with a queen bed. There will only be four of us staying the night, so i think it will be alright

Someone had a question about the house DJ and the set up. I didn't have the recommended DJ but a DJ that knew the place and in fact had a party the same day as my wedding, during the day. He didn't recommend using just the speakers cause they weren't that great! I opted not to use them and listen to my DJ. My music was just right no one complained. Its a personal preference, just giving you my advice. So it really doesn't matter what DJ you use.

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Inn! Your weddings will be great!

My name is Erica. I'm not doing any uplighting just trying to save money where I can. I am using High CP since I'm only having about 150 guests so we will already need to be spread out so the room doesn't look empty and I think this look will bring it all together. Don't have pics yet, but when I do, I will post away!

I only had 150 people and I had high CP. I too thought that 150 would make the room look so big. But it looked just right, everyone loved the space!

We are definitely doing the 90 min CH esp since we aren't having our ceremony there - that way we can use 30 mins to finish up taking pictures if we have to and still get a full hour with our guests! I heard they really give you a full spread inthe bridal suite though too!!

They do give a full spread in the bridal suite, but really I was too excited to eat. I wanted to see everyone at my cocktail hour.

Hi - congrats on the wedding! How was everything? I'd be interested to hear about your experience with buttercooky - FH and I love them for a bakery, but actally saw a wedding cake there once in the fridge and it didn't look right . . . lopsided maybe. Can you fill us in?

Anyone doing the uplighting through the Inn at New Hyde Park rather than through a vendor?

Yep! I found out at the showcase that they have a built in uplighting system. Jeanine quoted me $500 for it which is, from what I understand, a lot less expensive then doing it through a DJ.
