You know girls I really feel like maybe my family is the only one that is driving me crazy........none of you girls are having problems with relatives not talking? and where they wanna sit?

trust me i'm gonna have the same issues when i do my seating next year - i have to deal with old school italians who hold grudges for everything

yeah I know if they call a day late or if they had a cold and didnt ask how they were feeling
come on already its the year 2006......thank god my parents are not old fashioned at all

OMG, so is my Mom!!!! Well, 'provinco di Avellino' my Mom says--it's a little rown called Baiano.

Mine is from Pratola Serra (right outside of Avellino). I can't believe how many people came from that area - whenever I talk about it, no one knows.

I know!! There are so many small towns!
Anyone have any plans of making a visit in the near future???

I haven't been to Serra since I was little but DH and I plan to go in July 07. There isn't enough time to show him everything in two weeks though so we have to plan carefully - especially because I have family in Serra, Milano and Catania.

we were originally thinking of doing an italy trip for our honeymoon but we won't be able to relax - it'll be a lot of running around and sight seeing so we decided to wait til the summer of 08. it'll be our 1 yr. newlywed trip. most likely 3 weeks - 1 week touring and then 1 week in Castellammare del Golfo (FH's town) and 1 week in Palermo and Ragusa (where my parents are from). I can't wait to go...i miss the gelato

Look what I just found!!!!! Have I missed the boat on this one? Or is it new to you ladies, too?

Leftover Panettone?
...turn it into 'Antonio's French Toast'
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cinnamon to taste

Whisk eggs in medium bowl.
Add remaining ingredients.
Dip slices of panettone into mixture to coat both sides well.
Cook slices on non-stick griddle until golden.

Serve plain, or with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or ice cream.

You remind me of my best friend. Both of her parents (not just one) were mixed and she always identified with the German part the most. She's been going out with a German guy for years now, and we always joke that soon she'll get the last name!!!!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Who is familiar with the favors by 'European Home Decor'? They generally come in a blue box, and I know I've seen some on this site from one or two other Italian girls. I think someone did a coffee pot with 2 espresso cups and saucers. Anyway, I am having a hard time finding pics of their products online, and wondering if anyone knows where I can find them. TIA!!!!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Ah! Thank you! I remember seeing your favor before. What a great choice! That's the pattern I wanted for the coffee cups but it's now been discontinued.

I am probably going to get the one with peach instead of the burgundy, and it has a little cameo in the front instead of the Medusa head. Just trying to find a pic so I can decide! Thanks so much for your help!
