18th & 86th? Really??? Nice.. That neighborhood needs something like that.. The Italian culture / population is slowly deteriorating.
you're so right - 18th ave. gets less italian everyday. they need something like this to revive the culture in the neighborhood

Just a thought but I think it would be really cute if we had an Italian brides GTG sometime in the future. we could maybe go eat somewhere in Little Italy and go for dessert at Ferrara's - we'd make it an italian themed nightHow many of you girls would be interested in something like that?
I love this IDEA We can also go to Vincent if most of us live in that area ( I feel like there food is as close to GR8 Italian as possible)
I have never been on a GTG....would Love this!

i know!! i agree - I used to count the days until the 18th ave feast!!! used to LOVEE it - and now - i dont even go - theres just no excitement anymore ... but it might also be bc im alot older
Yea - the facility sounds reallly goood. they really want italians to have a place to go to get together. its going to have an indoor and outdoor pool, and a school for the little ones to learn italian, and its a great place to just go and talk abt your traditions and roots - kinda like what were doing on this board

Last year my husband and I flew on Delta/Alitalia direct to Venice and went on a cruise -- the cruise was wonderful!
what cruise line did u take and how long was it for?
It was a first cruise for both of us.
We went on a 7-Day Mediterranean cruise (with Costa Cruise lines)/and 2 days in Venice, Italy - it was wonderful! Left out of Venice and visited:
1-Bari, Italy;
2-Katakolon, Greece;
3-Izmir, Turkey;
4-Istanbul, Turkey and
5-Dubrovnik, Croatia and
then back to Venice for 2 days
I didn't want to come home.
about how much did it cost? how much did time did you have at port?
