i'm sorry i havent' been following this thread closely but is everyone here getting their girls armani or lladro statues for their bridal showers?

I'm thinking about it. But what's the protocol with that? Do you give them that at the shower and is it then totally separate from the BM gift?

we're doing the statutes- my mom is throwing the shower so she's taking care of the statues for the girls. Iladro is too wayyy too expensive (i have 9 girls in my bridal party so it would cost about 2K to get Iladro for all of them), so we're probably doing Armani or another brand called Nova. Then the gifts I give at the rehearsal dinner are gonna be from me and FH.

and me and FH will get the BP gifts for the rehearsal dinner

Yes, I have seen them. They are gorgeous & I'd really love for the girls to get them, whether it's from me or my mom! My mom keeps telling me it's her responsibility to get the statues b/c it's a bridal shower but I kinda feel bad. Anybody else feel that way?

don't get me wrong i definitely feel bad because my parents are already helping us out a lot - in fact i didn't have an engagement party on purpose because I felt bad that my parents were giving us so much for the wedding and paying the whole shower too. but theres just some things that my mother wants to do and i can't have a say lol like she insisted on buying the favors and no matter how much FH and me told her there was no need for her to do it she did it anyway and the same thing goes with the statues...italian mothers are very stubborn lol

I know, they are stubborn, aren't they?! That's funny - I didn't have an e-party either, partly for that reason! Anyway, I should just let her do what she wants - she' s the one who brought up the idea of the statues anyway!!!!

that's funny - bc for the e-party it was the TOTAL opposite for me ... me and FH decided NOT to have one .. and my parents and his parents convinced us into having one .. THEN we thought what if we just go with the IMMEDIATE family to a restaurant and celebrate? and my parents were like NO! your sister and brother had a party - its not right if we dont have one for you!! so.. we had an e-party - and now Im glad that we did - and it was really worth it!!

Santina,,,I was the same way..I REFUSED to have an E-party because my parents were paying for everything for the wedding, my shower, dress, endless gifts throughout the engagement, favors, invites...It got to the point where I would cry to them because I fealt so bad. BUT as you know they are thrilled and honored to do it for us. I just made sure to let them know how much I appreciated everything they did for us and I still thank them. My inlaws also were extremely generous...

Ro, u don't understand how much convincing it took for her to understand that i didn't want an engagement party - her and my father finally agreed but up to this day she tells me maybe i should have thrown u too a party anyway! lol i just thought that i'm not the only daughter u know? my parents have my sister who'll be getting married in a few years - i wasn't about to make them break the bank with my wedding. but like u said they keep telling me how happy and thrilled they are to be doing this and i'm their first daughter getting married so it's very special...so i guess we should give up and let them do what they gotta do because they're gonna do it anyway lol

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

Hi Girls!!!!

That's funny regarding the engagement party thing...my mom INSISTED and I told her NOWAY...What does she do?? She throws us a surprise E-party with the family and inlaws at my house. Than my MIL wanted to have one with her family. I gave up after that..we ended up having TWO e-parties (both house parties though)

My mother also wanted to do the Armani statues for the girls, but I told her not to. They are beautiful, but I just felt like it's not something that they would have really appreciated...I guess it depends on your girls..

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

i thought the armani statues were more expensive then the lladro ones? i found cute little girls ones at 65m bucks and for the BM's like 95 bucks. that's more money then the armani ones?
