I'm from Long Island. Not sure if I qualify to be here...100% Italian but I'm third generation. It's so funny reading this thread, so many similarities and it made me see that my big old family wasn't so strange after all!

FORZA AZZURI!!!!!!!!!!!

ITALIA WON THE WORLD CUP.

I cant believe I was actually in tears.

WOOO HooOOO!!! OMG. What a GAME!!!

I was at my friend's cafe on 13th Ave (In Brooklyn) to watch the game... Once it was over we all headed over to 18th Ave and it was like something I have never experienced in my life.. I took pics.. When I get home, I am going to download and post them. It was total pandamonium!!!!!! There had to be at least 10,000 people in the street.

What a great day to be Italian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: **Official Italian Bride Thread**

What an unbelievable experience yesterday! I lost my voice but it was well worth it FORZA ITALIA CAMPIONI DEL MONDO!!!!!!! We paraded down the streets in Bensonhurst until midnight waving our flags and honking the horns! at one point we were at a red light and i was waving my flag and the car next to us starts honking and pointing to the italian newspapers he was holding in his hands - all of a sudden he rolls down the window and tells my FH to get out of the car and take some. to make a long story short he was an italian paper delivery guy and he gave us copies of the Italian newspapers for free before midnight! I just thought that was so amazing - I'm saving those papers forever along with the ones I have from 1982.

and another crazy story I saw Jackie with her husband on 18th avenue during all the craziness!!! That was another memorable experience!

FORZA ITALIA PER SEMPRE!!!
