I am SO looking forward to the showcase tomorrow night!!! I am even MORE excited about Sunday....have a 4pm appt with Mike Closs to BOOK!!! WooHoo!!!!

Can you tell I am excited?

We are planning to go to the show case too!!!! I am charging up my digital camera battery now. I can't wait to get inside the Dome Room in person!!!!

The Dome Room sealed the deal for us! I am so glad that the Prime Rib is on the 'regular' menu. Sebastian (FH) said 'we don't need anything fancy' We just want Shrimp Cocktail in the CH and Prime Rib (for my Dad!)! Is it tomorrow yet!! I am SO flipping excited to go!!!

Any other JT brides know, is leaving a larger deposit an option? We may, so our monthly payments will be lower. Thanks!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Sure, I think you can leave as much as you want for a deposit. Mike told us that we could put $500 down and pay as little as $500 per month until 2/2006 since we only need to pay half in advance. The balance is due like 8 - 10 days before the wedding.

I have not seen the deluxe menu but Mike told us we can pick whatever we want and we do not have to stick to any menu at all.

Well it looks like we are definitely not going to make our minimum. Our RSVP date is this Thursday and I only have 109 coming. Our minimum is 170 and Anna told me they are going to throw in any extras for us.

They ARE or they ARE NOT throwing in extras?

That sounds silly since you are already paying for 170. I'm pretty sure Mike told me they would throw in extras if we did not hit the minimum. I do not have my notes with me at work though but I definitley asked that question.

Sorry forgot a word, she said they ARE NOT going to throw in extras. Yes I do think it stinks that since we have to pay for all these people.
We booked with them originally because everyone said 'WE ARE COMING!!' and now everyone who WAS coming, had something else come up, COME ON PEOPLE, I told you about it a year and a half ago, the exact day and place. I am truely offended by some people!!
Sorry just had to vent

jules, i am soooo sorry!!! this is the most rediculous thing I have EVER heard..... OK, anna is my BM and i am going to get an ulcer over the next year hearing all of this!!! i just emailed jt to see if you can change your BM, i mean her name is on my contract, so I am probably screwed!!! its like they will do friggin cartwheels down the hall to get u to book, and once they have you they screw u!!! there is no way you are going to pay for 70 people that are not going to be there, if that is the case, and they wont throw in 'extras', then get each and every meal wrapped and donated or something like that. U are paying for that food, you should get it then!!! or take it all home and feed your whole family for a week or two!!!! please let us know what is going on!!!!

on a side note, jozie..... doesnt JT provide us w/ place cards????

Exotica - they do, but I am using frames..so I am probably going to print the names that go into the frame..My handwriting is horrible!!

jozieb0925, thanks for asking! I can't believe it. I have 6 days of work left (not including today) and I CANNOT concentrate for the life of me. And of course my boss brought in a huge tub of caramel popcorn from his vacation and put it on MY desk so I keep smelling it....I can't take it!!

We got a lot done this weekend. We did the seating chart, programs, wrapped all the bridal party gifts, started packing (we're moving this weekend to our new apartment), started writing our vows and made our OOT gift bags to give to the hotel next week. Whew! Not really a vacation weekend...

Question for you girls in the Penthouse room - we have round tables. When we were making our seating chart, we ended up with most tables having either 9 or 10, but two or three tables only have 7 (for example, we only wanted the 2 sets of parents and grandparents at the main table which equals 7) - will this look strange???? let me know what you girls think.

We have our final final appt on Thursday night so I will let you know how that goes. We have to pay and give in our seating chart, as well as take everything for the ceremony/reception including centerpieces (they are silk).

Hope everyone else is doing well!! jozieb0925, you're not far behind me!! What else do you have left to do?

wow u guys, its like right around the corner.... literally!! i am so excited for both you and jozie, and i cant wait to hear reviews!!!! Hey girls, i never even noticed the carpet, now i am nervous about that too!!!!! ahahhaha, oh well!
paulsbride, you have sooo much going on!!! good luck w/ the move, that is so exciting! I think it will look nice with 7 people at that table, I think less looks good anyway, and people will know its the most important people in your lives! I unfortunately, as well, will be having the max at every table I am sure!!!! Its going to be hard to part w/ all of that $$$, I cant wait to hear about your final arrangements, let us know everything!!! take care!

thanks Exotica..I'm getting nervous..

The carpeting in the PH room is not bad at all..It's like black with goldish swirls in it..It's actually decent compared to some other halls..Not sure what the dome room has..Just keep in mind, in the end the only person who will notice the carpet is you..not really something to worry about..I'm just anal about that kind of stuff..

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Just wanted to vent that I am crazed and stressed! So much to do!! Ok, I'm over it. We are putting our favors together tonight, picking up the centerpieces, gathering everything we need for our JT meeting tomorrow, going to the bank to pick up the bank check for JT, and I wanted to get some packing done!!

I had my hair trial last night. It went pretty well.

Oh, another question - I have very slight tan lines left over from about 3 months ago that are refusing to go away...I have bought some sunless tanning lotion from Clinique, but it doesn't cover it very well! Any advice? I looked into airbrush tanning and it is $75!! Is it worth the $??

I'm right behind you PaulsBride..Don't worry, I'm sure everything will turn out PERFECT..just take a deep breath and do one thing at a time. As far as the tan lines go, maybe if you went to the tanning salon a few times, they will go away...If not, I would def try the airbrush tanning..but I would do it a few days b4 your wedding..just in case you don't like the way it turns out.

Good luck with Everything!!

Yup my shower was Aug 27th It went great. I played it off well acting as if I had no clue, what made it even better was that I was so nervous I was shaking, oh yea and I had two cups of coffe and nothing to eat that morning
I have pictures but they are on my other computer.
Thanks for asking

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'! - showcase tonight

DAMN!!! DAMN!!! DAMN!!!!

I am still at work and won't be able to go the Jericho Terrace showcase tonight!!!! I had a client come in to NYC from LA who just left!!! We started after 10 a.m. and worked through lunch. That means I have other clients to deal with now - until who knows what time since at least one is on CA time too.

FI is working late and has to go to another job after this. DAMN!!!!! He was supposed to finish up the first job by 1 p.m. and head to the second but something got screwed up this morning due to everyone being late (rain/trains). DAMN!!!!

When is there going to be another showcase????

I'm soooooooooo pissed. Someone please take pics of the Dome Room and post them for me. I want to see the carpet (close up) as well as a wide angle view of the room looking at bride/groom and from bride/groom point of view.

And please someone ask about any cancelled dates in warmer months in 2005. We have no date in mind just warmer than 2/2006.

Thanks much.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry about the showcase. I bet there will be another one soon. You should call JT. They should be able to tell you when the next one is. Also, Mskitty went and hopefully she will be able to fill you in on the night.

Exotica - that is great that they let you switch. I think you will be very happy with Mike.

BTW - I spoke with Mike today and I asked him if it was possible to break our center pieces apart at the end of the night and to hand out a few flowers wrapped in tissue paper to all of the ladies and he said YES. I am sooo glad because I feel like everyone fights over the center pieces and this was a very easy resolution. The tissue is being provided by my florist..

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I WENT TO THE SHOWCASE!!!!!! I tore out of work and jumped in the car with my girlfriend (former coworker) who lives around the corner. She just moved there a few weeks ago too. FI did not want me to travel out to LI by myself.

We got there SUPER late.....9:20 p.m. But I did take tons of pics. I met with Mike Closs and still just think he's fabulous. I also met Chad who showed us around the hall - DOME ROOM & bridal suite. We saw some really pretty centerpieces on display in the larger cocktail room downstairs. They had one with all roses and the spiral of votive candles like FI wants. I took pics.

I'll see if I can post them in a sec.

I asked him about upgrading menu items or something if the minimum that brides pay for is not met - Mike said SURE. He also said that he took care of it tonight so I guess I was a little late on that one. LOL Glad it got taken care of though since like 60 people can't make that wedding.

And the centerpieces with the votives are actually pretty common so you should definitely get a good deal..or you can buy some materials yourself and give them to the florist to cut costs.

You know what's funny, as my girlfriend and I were walking out, I saw to girls 'rushing' in, I was wondering if it was you! I should have asked. Didn't wanna look like a bafoon if it wasn't you! P.S. I just finished emailing you about a million pics I took. Didn't think you were going to make it. So, what'd you think of the Dome Room?

The centerpiece which I hope shows up is supposedly $85 - $150 each!!!!???? I know it has candles and roses but that's a crazy price.

Okay, the file is too huge so I can't load it. But it's all roses and a spiraled candle base.
