I WENT TO THE SHOWCASE!!!!!! I tore out of work and jumped in the car with my girlfriend (former coworker) who lives around the corner. She just moved there a few weeks ago too. FI did not want me to travel out to LI by myself.

We got there SUPER late.....9:20 p.m. But I did take tons of pics. I met with Mike Closs and still just think he's fabulous. I also met Chad who showed us around the hall - DOME ROOM & bridal suite. We saw some really pretty centerpieces on display in the larger cocktail room downstairs. They had one with all roses and the spiral of votive candles like FI wants. I took pics.

I'll see if I can post them in a sec.

I asked him about upgrading menu items or something if the minimum that brides pay for is not met - Mike said SURE. He also said that he took care of it tonight so I guess I was a little late on that one. LOL Glad it got taken care of though since like 60 people can't make that wedding.

You know what's funny, as my girlfriend and I were walking out, I saw to girls 'rushing' in, I was wondering if it was you! I should have asked. Didn't wanna look like a bafoon if it wasn't you! P.S. I just finished emailing you about a million pics I took. Didn't think you were going to make it. So, what'd you think of the Dome Room?
-Jill

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!! I am so happy I drove out there tonight. The next showcase is on 11/17/04.

Yep, that was us. I probably screeched into the parking lot. LOL

Jules - Good luck and let us know what happens...what happened with the low count/extra situation? Did you talk to someone about it?

I just did my count/table set-up yesterday and turns out from 275 guests..we are down to 210-215..there are some maybe's in that count that I still need confirmation on...fewwww I just made it though, I think!! But, some of those people include children. I know this may be a stupid question, but they are considered part of the head count right?
I have to gaurentee 200 people in the penthouse room.

Paulsbride - just so you know my tables are a mix from 12 to 8 people per table, so I am in the same boat as you..

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I am going today to try and discuss the whole situation regarding the minimum. I will let you guys know how it all comes out. In the end my FFIL and FH have said that if not only I felt uncomfortable but my cousin did as well THEY don't want to have any problems with her so I should just change managers today. My FFIL is one to say how he feels and will go in there himself if there are problems.

Yes children count as people and once you have reached your minimum they are half price. She also told me that if you don't think they will eat a full meal, then you don't add them to your table count and just leave an empty seat. As in if they were going to eat off of some of mom or dad's plate. Did that make sense? Glad you made your count. My count is slowly rising so we'll see how it goes, I KNOW after all is said and done I am not going to make my minimum

Hey Jules,

Can you also ask about using the cocktail hour chairs instead of those flowered ones.

Chair cover are $3 pp++ so I am wondering if they will let brides use the cocktail chairs for ceremony & reception - assuming they have a lot of those chairs? They have the gold back and light green seats.

Thanks much.

I'm not sure why they didn't show it to you, but the 7 entree choices is the Deluxe Wedding Menu, which is what we're going with. Maybe you told them a specific budget you were going with? It's a bit more expensive, but my dad is paying for the reception, and he said we should go for it. The cocktail hour is better too, but it's really not a huge difference.

I just wish they would get new chairs!!!! Ugh. They ARE replacing the carpets by the time I get married though...don't know exactly when.

If we go with JT, I am asking for chair covers. Or I would want to use the ones from the cocktail hour withthe gold tone backs. I like them much better than that flower pattern.

That's a good idea by using those CT chairs. I like those also!!! Def. worth asking..I wish I did! Can you let me know if they are ok with that?

I totally forgot to ask about the Cocktail hour chairs on Wednesday. I was in such a rush I didn't even take a pic of them.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I have a couple questions, what are you girls doing for centerpieces? I am meeting with a florist next week. Also, anyone using the chair covers? What do they look like? Are you paying for them? We are going to book o Sunday, going to try and get them to throw in the chaircovers!
Thanks!

I am doing tall centerpieces with hydrangeas, roses, and some greenery...I am using the chair covers. They look like the table clothes..they are pinstriped, white on white. If you want, there is also a bow that you can add to it, but I am not doing. Supposedly they threw them in..

Ok, another question. When I was at the showcase, we were looking around, and were in the room downstairs (Oak room?), there were chaircovers on the chairs, but there was no ribbon/bow at all. Looked like the cover was just thrown on the chair. Does it stay like that without a ribbon/bow on it?

hey girls!!
as for flowers, I am doing tall CP w/ votive candles going up the stand, not sure which kind yet though cause I dont have specific colors etc. yet! definitely try to get them to 'throw in' the chair covers, I think the bow is extra on top of the cover, so rediculous!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Ok ladies I am back from my meeting with Jericho Terrace today and let me just say that I met a totally different person today. I went in there thinking during my conversation with them she was going to say one little thing that would set me off--oh and because I woke up in this horribly pissy mood this morning--
But she said nothing to upset me, she added everything I asked for such as name brand sodas, let me check out the cakes, discussed whatever I needed discussed. I told her about my situation with having to meet the minimum, and she said when I come in for my final we will discuss making my day more extravagent for missing those extra people. Some things she named off doing were an extra ice sculpture, wine bottles on every table, espresso and cordial bar. And that when I came in next time we would speak to Mike Closs, who is the sales manager to arrange the extras.

I left there with the greatest feeling, until I got on the phone with FH and told him I didn't change BM's, he was pissed because he saw how upset I was last time but I told him, She made me feel 10x's better this time, than when I walked out last time.
