Re: Going to Jericho terrace today, UPDATED w/Pics
Posted by MsKitty1274
We were looking at a Friday night in July (2006), minimum 175 in the Dome Room (FH wants that room), evening. It was suggested by a friend to do an 'off' month, like Feb, but I am afraid of a blizzard and only 100 of the 175 guarantee will come. We were quited $65 for Feb, Fri nite. I just want to be happy.
we are doing a friday night as well due to the amount of $ we saved, we just couldnt justify a sat for 7k more!!!!
we are in the dome room as well, fh wanted that room too which is funny. but for us, it was the cocktail hr room, omg sooo big and nice! i have always wanted a late october/early november wedding, unfortunately for us, its no longer 'off season' and is becoming quite the popular time to get married! Do you want a summer month?? what about a december wedding, awesome themes go w/ that, or maybe even april?? maybe if u are flexible w/ your date you can get a better rate, although I think that 65 is very good.i read that u were mentioning putting a higher downpayment with your credit card,5k right?? then you can make your 12 pmts and it will be like 416/month (which will bring you to your 50%) the good news is is that you have almost 2 years, which we were lucky with as well. Also, if youre gonna go the cc route, if you HAVE to, try to get a CC that offers checks for 0%, or get a miles card where youll be able to get something for it! we just got a miles card and plan to charge our HM and bands and stuff with hopes of upgrading to first class, at least for the way there lol.
Ok I am done babbling hahhaah, sorry guys! I just really understand where you are coming from. This wedding actually taught me how to save, I mean i dont have much in the bank right now, but I see the wedding as my savings, if u get that lol. Prior to this I shopped so much it was insane, i didnt save anything!!! A wedding is not worth strapping yourself to the point of not making all your bills etc, but its once in a lifetime, and you should do what YOU want to do to make it the most memorable day of your life.

Re: Going to Jericho terrace today, UPDATED w/Pics
Well, the changing months is not THAT big of a deal. I guess I could go with November or April. I just wanted a nice weather month. Especially wiht having JT, they have such nice grounds for pics. Then again, it can rain ANY day in ANY month! I just need to be a little more open minded. I am hoping to go to JT with my FH and our coordinator (who knows our BM-Mike) and talk things out. So between now and then, FH and I are going to sit down and talk out all the wants/needs we have. Thank you all for your guidance and assistance! I am willing to do anything to get JT, so long as they can accomodate us. I feel they will. THANKS!!

OFFICIAL JERICHO TERRACE THREAD!!!
Posted by pmnkm
WOOHOO JT girls! I am so glad I feel like I've learned so much from reading all of your posts! All I know is that my parents are going broke paying them every month! Our BM is Chad, has anyone heard anything about him? I hope everything is OK there...there is alot of pressure from the family because noone has been there before and if the food isn't great we are never going to hear the end of it! Thanks so much for sharing all the info! Keep it coming!
oh and that's weird about the soda...I definately have to remember to ask about that one!
Hi Pmnkm,
Welcome!! I never heard of Chad, but as far as the food many of my family and friends have had weddings and other functions at JT and if one thing is good, it's the food! I don't think you or your family will be disappointed.
I'm so glad our JT list is GROWING.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
We were actually supposed to book with Chad. We met him the first time we went there. When we came back to leave a deposit he wasn't there so we dealt with Mike and now he is our BM. Chad seemed really nice though.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Well, I guess hearing nothing at all is better than hearing bad things! Just curious, but did you guys meet with Gina and who is everyone using for vendors? I am using a couple they suggested. We have starlight express for DJ (they did FH's sister's wedding and we liked them), Sherwood Triart for photography (not on their list) and Pedastals. I'm thinking of making an appointment when its time just to see what she has for invites and favors...it can't hurt to look!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Good morning JT girls!!!!pmnkm- Chad is our bm. When we talked to him, he wasn't sales pitchy at all and he definitely worked with our budget. When we drop off our payment he always stops to say hello and reassures us that if we need anything, he's there to help.
We did go to see Gina because they set up the appoinment with her the night we booked. She was nice, but we aren't going with any of their vendors. She did try to push her invites, which I think are 20% off, but a friend of ours works at a publishing company and is getting them for us at 50% off. Can't beat that. Most of our other vendors we pretty much had set up before booking JT though. Otherwise, we might have used Fine Art for photography.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hi!!I went to meet with Gina way back and she recommended going through her for invites, but I never did. I do know she had a decent selection. At one point, she told us we had to use one of their florists, but I never did. I really wish I went with Pedestals though. My FMIL knew one of the guys at Stefans (she is paying for the flowers), so I didn't have much of a choice, but to use them. I actually visited Flowers by Brian and Pedastals and liked Pedastals. One of the workers there was really accommodating and full of ideas.
As far as the other vendors go, I booked Fine Art, but didn't realize it was one of JT's recommended vendors. I didn't use anyone else that they recommended.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hi Girls. I just got married at JT in January. IF you have any questions, please FM. Everything was beautiful. Everyone still raves about JT. I had Mike Closs as my BM LOVE HIM. I also had Linda as my Maitre D (Sp)She was wonderful as well. At first I was a little taken back with her becuase she was so controlling - well maybe that isnt the right word. On top of things definetlly, She made everything go smoothly. She was great- honestly.
As far as Gina goes, Didnt really care for her. I meet with her and she did push all of the vendors. especially Flowers by brian. I had heard that they are related - she denied it though- I only used Patken as their vendors. She pushed all of them. Then she called me about invitations I told her that I had family doing it. I e-mailed her for some other info and she never got back to me - so I dont know what happened there. But Mike and Linda were faboulous.
I couldnt be happier with my choice. We had our ceramony there too. I wish I knew about wrapping the food.because I only had a bite of the steak - oh my god was that good.
Oh and Anna we did our final arrangements with her because Mike was on vac. You are definetly right about her. She did stick to that contract . I had to call Mike and ask him for stuff and he was like no prob. I wasnt crazy aboout her, but like I said Mike was our BM and he was there the night of our wedding, Calming down my husband, Funny.
Any questions, please FM
Karen

Hi. Has anyone gone to any of the Jericho Terrace Bridal Showcases? There is one next Wednesday night, Sept 8, and I was wondering if it is worth going if you already have all of your vendors booked. Thanks.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
hey girls how is everyone doing!!! I had the lasik on saturday.... NO side effects and its the most amazing thing i have ever done!! just wanted to share that! I now see 20/15, and that was 1 DAY post op!!!We met w/ gina right after we booked JT, basically just because they made it seem like the next step, it was like ok now youll set up an appointment w/ gina. She was OK, didnt really do anything for me. we knew nothing about wedding planning so i guess it was a good place to start. this was ofcourse prior to finding this site!!! she did push their vendors, saying that we need to use their florist, and that a benefit of booking one of 'their photographers' was that if there were two brides, one w/ their photo guy and one w/ an outside vendor, the one w/ their photographer would get 'first dibs' so to speak on photo ops, etc. I thought that was a little rude lol.
she also made it seem like we HAD to use her for invites too.
We met w/ Patken, thought they were ok and VERY expensive (we wanted the soho book so it explains some of the price.) then we met w/ duet and it was all over from there, we booked them on the spot.
we also met w/ flowers by brian, and while i am sure they do great work, we didnt like them AT ALL. the guy we met w/ was horrible, rushed us, threw stuff together and was like take care. We then met w/ Jack and Rose, and again, booked on the spot w/ them.
We werent interested in any of their dj's and met w/ music by michael, high voltage and tommys tunes. we booked tommys tunes for numerous reasons, though all 3 had a lot to offer.
the only vendor of theirs we are using is royalty limos and that is just because of the good reviews i have heard, and the cars that I wanted.
treilly.... I have been to a showcase, and might go to the one on the 8th, just cause i havent been there in a while and they are somewhat fun lol. I just love to see the hall!!
alright ttyl xoxo

Unfortunately, I can't make it to the showcase on 9/8, but I have been to one there and it is really informative. I think you should def. go if you haven't been to one yet..If I remember correctly..they even pass out food..I have so much work to do today..it's taking away from my LIW posting..

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'! - budget
Hi all, (and thanks to exotica776 for showing me this thread). We are thinking of booking Jericho and I'm trying to calulate a budget.
Can anyone tell me the pricing for photo/video. I have it down as $3500 for our budget but if it's less and I can put that money elsewhere, I'd love to know. I hear Duet is reasonable.
I also have flowers as $1700 for 150 guests(15 tables and 3 brides maids plus mine bouquet and the guys bouts). Does that seem right?
How much are limos? We are getting married at the hall so I guess drop off in the a.m. and pick up after for ride to Brooklyn promenade for extra pics and then home.
Thanks much.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'! - menu

Hi there, I have wanted to reply the past few days but i have been sooo crazy, so this will be long!
i am so jealous some of you girls got the chair covers thrown in!!! I am wondering if i could call and ask for them to be added! we are giving them a lot of $$$, its worth a try ahahahah.
Jozie, the cigar price seems pretty good, what are u getting with the deal, and when will the guy be rolling the cigars???
so for us we are in the dome room, both our mothers wanted us to be in the penthouse room, the one next to the dome, for size reasons. the room is really pretty, but we just loved the ceiling. i was indifferent really, it was the huge cocktail hr room that sold JT to us, so I let fh pick which room he wanted lol.
I have never heard a 'bad' review of JT, I mean ofcourse i have done the searches and read the small things here and there, but overall anyone i have ever spoken to has raved about weddings there. I have heard the food is amazing so that is the most important part hahaha. I have saved a few things that i have heard that were negative and as it gets closer i plan on addressing them with my BM.
my BM is Anna, she was very sweet but a little out there lol. Slightly sales pitchy as well. FH and I went to see jt w/ his brother (bm), his girlfriend and fh's friend, they were talking as we were touring and she was like 'guys please be quiet I am losing track here.' I am so far away so i really dont know anything about the planning process with them. We send a check in every month, thats about it haha.
do u guys know what the menus look like that they provide??is it one per person? were you able to change your menu at all? I know its a choice of 7, but i would love to change the chicken on it.
next I want to welcome Paulsbride!!! your day is almost here and i cant wait to hear your review!!!! and then josie and julestrd!!!!!
who are u guys using for vendors, what are you favors! ok thats it for now, talk to you soon!!!![]()
We just went this weekend to look at the hall. The menu I have is a host choice of 3 entrees not 7? It's 1 pasta, 1 carving & 8 chafing dishes. We can have the Dome room for an afternoon with the ceremony in the downstairs room beside the larger cocktail room. That is with 150 guests.
I did not even see a menu with a host choice of 7 entrees?
It's still a toss up for us. Russos has a choice of 11 entrees. We went today. Nice place but not as pretty as JT. FI also likes Fox Hollow - Garden Terrace.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'! - menu
Mike told us that we can totally change the entire JT menu if we didn't like it. He said we can use it, change it or rip it up and create our own. That is part of the reason FI liked the place so much - no set menu.
