Ok, What rooms is everyone having? How many inviting? For those who are getting married soon, how many guests coming?

We are having the Garden Room for CH and Dome Room for reception.

Rough guest list for now (weddingis June 06) is at 192 (w/o FM&FIL's friends or my parent' friends).

Thanks!
-Jill

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Ok so I have what I think is a strange question. My mom went to a wedding and after the Viennesse table they put out boxes for people to take home any leftovers of the Viennesse table. Since we are having alot of out of town guests it might be nice for them to have a snack for the next day or whatever. Anyway, what do you ladies think of it? Do you think it's tacky? I don't really have an opinion I was just wondering if it is really done because I haven't personally see it. Does anyone know if JT would allow this? I guess we would provide the boxes...what do you think JT girls?

Hi girls!!!!I cant wait to hear paulsbrides review!!!!!!
anyway, we are in the Dome room, our total list is 296, and I am soooo scared that we forgot someone!! We had to make an 'A and B' list because we dont want over 240 people. JT 'says' they can put up to 300 in that room, but that is after switching to the rectangular tables, and i think that that is a scary thought! that room is not made for 300 lol, and i want the round tables because i think it would look so pretty with the style of the room. So we will send out about 260 invites, pray for our 20% and hopefully get to our 'b' list, which is mostly friends anyway.

I think we have the garden room for the CH, its the first one on the left, the big one.

we are having tall cp's, but no specific style yet, just a lot of candles....
we are using duet for photo, met w/ patken and they just were not for us.
we are using jack and rose for flowers, we met w/ flowers by brian, had a horrible experience, then j&R and booked on the spot. there have been some mixed reviews lately on them, but their work is always said to be beautiful.... i am still very confident in them.
for limos we are using royalty, they are our only jt vendor. We got the escalade and the bmw745i.
for dj's we went to see high voltage sounds, music by michael, and tommys tunes. they all had things we liked, but we went w/ tommys tunes for a bunch of reasons.

Hope all is well!!!! ttyl!

I have also heard of places packing up some food for the bride and groom cause they usually dont get to eat much during the day, but who knows about that either..... what do u guys think? anyone ask about this??

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I have definitely heard about packing up food for the Viennese...I would insist on it if I were you! I mean, it will just go to waste otherwise!

Did you find Jack and Rose to be reasonably priced as far as florists are concerned?

We invited 260 and are only having approx. 140 I am not from here and none of my family can afford to come out here. I kept telling myself I should have gotten married in Vegas but now I am stuck but I know this wedding is going to be the best any one of my friend's or family have ever been to (those who are making the effort to come ) Can't wait

J&R were extremelyyyyy reasonable!!!! I almost fell over after seeing their price, i mean we are still paying 3k for flowers, however we are getting tall cp's with votive candles spiraling up the stand, petals on the tables, church flowers, like 4 coursages, about 9 bouts, my bo k, my moh bo k and at least 3 bm's bo k's, flowers for the CH, such as on the passing trays and around the different stations, cake flowers, dias table flower arrangement, and omg so much more that i cant even think of..... Jack is definitely into what he does, and while i hear its hard to get in touch w/ them etc, i just loved him and couldnt imagine not having booked him!
even my fh loved him!!!!

ETA: 20 tall cp's

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

There is no reason why Jericho Terrace should give you a hard time about the boxes. I doubt they will provide them for you though but all of those desserts are paid for and go in the garbage if they are not eaten.

My sister did the boxes and put nice labels on top of them with their names on it. Everyone took home a doggie box of desserts and there was still 5 or 6 whole cakes that werent even cut that went back to my parents house. This was at Lenoards of great neck though. The bridal attendant insisted that we take them home since people were going to be comming back to the house and over the next day they came in handy.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I wanted to know if anyone asked JT if we could used votive place cards. I bought all the supplies to make them but I never had the guts to ask for fear that they were going to say no. I figured I would just use them and not light the candles if they made a big deal out of it.

Did anyone ask or if you are going there soon can you ask for me since I am such a chicken... Thanks girls

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

this is one of the halls that my fh and i are thinking about having our reception. we are leaning towards the jericho terrace very much. it was a beautiful hall and it was very old fashion looking. to top it all off it is a very italian oriented place. exactly what we need. if anyone has had there wedding there previously give me your imput and post some pics. thanks for the help girls. and congrats on your wedding day.

I was there on Sept 8 for a wedding showcase and took a bunch of pics. They are not of weddings, but of the place itself. If you want them (there are about 45 or so), FM me your email address and I will send them to you.

Which review?!?!

here is the review posted by jensun....
Jericho Terrace review.....

Well, here it is. I didn't post it because I didn't want to offend anyone but remember this is just my opinion. The place was beautiful. It was kind of mass confusion when we got there. In a matter of 2 minutes we saw 2 different brides. Lots of people everywhere. They had the ceremony there and the set-up was really nice. We all went to cocktail hour after that. In my opinion, the food wasn't that good. The stuffed mushrooms were dry and shriveled up and the sweedish meatballs were very dry. There was a lot of fried foods, but that might just be what they requested. The service was excellent, absolutely no complaints there. The dinner was good. I had the chicken sorrentino and it was very tasty. The dessert was cake and an ice cream pastry thing, it was different, it was like phylo dough on either side of vanilla and chocolate ice cream. My biggest complaint was in the beginning, valet was running behind and people were blocking traffic because valet could not keep up with the amount of people that were coming into the parking lot, and the cocktail food in my opinion wasn't very good. Hope this helps, and doesn't offend anyone. Also, jmo, the bride had short centerpieces, but I think that tall centerpieces would have looked a lot better because of the high ceiling...

I think she gave a great review, and we all want honest opinions so i know i for one greatly appreciate it!!!! pmnkn.... I am not worried about it at all, their choices of food are just never ending, so like jensun said, it very well couldve been just their selection she didnt like.... this is however the first time i have heard a complaint about the food... i am also wondering if it was a day or night wedding. as for seeing other brides, it really shouldnt happen because ch's start an hour to an hour and a half apart from each other so there isnt that confusion! what her review does it allows us to take notes, and bring them up at our next 'meeting' with our bm. just keep notes and have them addressed, that is why this site is so great! i also agree though w/ the tall cp's, in the dome, you have to have tall ones, your eyes automatically go up towards the ceiling, and the low ones gets lost in the room.... JMO!!!!! dont worry girls, things go wrong at every wedding, if that is the worst of it, I will be happy!!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Thanks!! ! You know that answered a question I had been pondering. Tall centerpieces. I had never really liked them, until I saw them in person. Then liked them, but was still not sold on the idea, until I thought about it and read Exotica's post that the low ones get 'lost' in the Dome room!

I am not too concerned with another wedding b/c we are having a Thursday wedding.

-Jill

P.S. When FH and I were there to book, we had food tasting, OH MY we loved all the things (except mushroomsm I don't like them, FH said they were good). Say, they gave us Creme Brule (sp?) for dessert, can we have that instead of the ice cream at our wedding?!?!? I wonder!

hey jill!!!! You definitely shouldnt have a problem with another wedding, even if it were a saturday night! they showed us the booking and we start at 7 and another ch will start at 830 i believe..... even so, it wouldnt really bother me, or else i wouldve booked somewhere where there was one wedding at a time. i never really even gave it any thought cause i just loved the hall so much!!! One true thing that anna said when we walked into the dome room was how nice tall cp's looked there... and i really agree. you just look upward cause its the center of attention really.... and tall cps would really stand out nicely!!!so ofcourse its more $$, but i think it sets the room off nicely!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

My thing is the tall centerpieces I have seen, nothing really caught my eye. None made me say, 'That's it!'. I have an appt with Pedestals tomorrow night, guess I'll see what happens. I am not 100% that I will use them, but it's my first meeting with a vendor!!! (I AM SO NERVOUS) Did decide I want all roses for all the flowers (bo-ks, bouts, corsages, etc), only exception is my bo-k, I want some stephonotis (sp?).

that is good that u have an idea of what you want.... i have none as far as types of flowers, i do know i want fall leaves on the tables... and all autumny types of flowers/colors. I MUST have a votive candle cp stand, other than that..... TBA. i have heard very good things about pedestals, i heard that they can be pricey though.... One piece of advice i would offer would be to look outside jt vendors..... yes its nice they are recommended, but they are recommended because of the 'kick backs' or so ive heard. for each vendor we looked at 2 or 3 in the field and then made a decision.... we are only going w/ royalty as far as jt vendors go.
