I'm starting a mother survival thread for those of us unlucky girls that were 'blessed' with mothers that really know how to hurt their daughters. I've vented a ton today, so I'm just starting this thread for anyone else. So vent away! I am here for you, and hopefully you all wil be here for me when I need it.

ps to all of us who have to deal with crazy moms. i say its their loss.
Yes, to everyone who has a mom, dad, FMIL, or FFIL that is hard to deal with. Honestly, a lot of times it's their problem, not yours. I've gotten a lot better about dealing with my mom by realizing this. Of course, this past Thanksgiving was too much for even me to take.
Vent away, ladies! The holidays are coming up, and I know it can be a frustrating time

Oh, my mother is psychotic... love her to death, but psychotic... she is having issues with anyone doing anything outside her 'norm'. The biggest problem i am having is that my older brother (and his wife) is a kiss *** and asks their opinion on everything... so now she expects that from the rest of us (I am one of five).... So when I bought a house she was pissed that she didnt get to give her 2 cents (She actually beat me and threw me literally out of the house). She is especially nuts now because my sis came home from thanksgiving with her boyfriend and raved about how fantastic chicago is.... it kinda annoyed me too, but my mother is very annoyed to the point that she left the house for 12 hours and we couldnt find her.... I am telling you, psycho.... i cant wait for her to hit the change

My mom in general is/was great. However, there are definatly her moments:
After I told her we got engaged, she told me that I had better go to Weight Watchers, that I needed to lose 15 lbs and was the heaviest she ever saw me (I was a size 6!).
she just e-mailed me to tell me that she was upset that I wasn't more excited aobut my birthday gift from her!
