OFFICIAL NEW HISPANIC BRIDES THREAD

NO OFFENSE to anyone else.....but hey..I had to jump on the bandwagon! Come one come all...since there are so many divisions of Hispanic...I figured I'd play it safe..

Hola!!! this is Michelle and I am 1/4 Puerto Rican, 1/4 Dominican, Cuban and Jewish!! How's that for a MUTT! Of course I say I'm Puerto Rican when asked... and in 7 days I'll have a REAL spanish name! THANK GOD..FINALLY!

Im not hispanic, but my DH is...born in Ecuador and came to the US when he was 13

I was going to do an official CAUCASIAN brides thread but didn't think it was politically correct and figured others might find it offensive. People want to be treated equally but then go start threads like this to seperate themselves....doesn't seem to make much sense to me.....

It's not about separating oneself, the thing is that Hispanic/Latina weddings have a few different traditions than non-Hispanic ones. This is a nice way to suggest additional things to add to the wedding. For example, in Hispanic weddings we have the Arras which are 13 coins (representing Jesus and the 12 apostles) that the husband gives to the wife to express that he recognizes his responsibility as a provider. She in turns takes them to show that she will take care of the finances with dedication and prudence. Filipinos do this as well but I believe it may be that they took the custom from the Spaniards since they were once a Spanish colony.

PS I am 100% Salvadorean

perhaps next time, before you try and start drama you should chk the date of the thread---this hasn't been posted to since jan 2007 -- until YOU bumped it
