Hey.. how long does the calligraphy take to be done? Mine are in too she is just waiting for me to send her the list and she will get on the ball with the calligrpahy. Also.. Since your day is the day after mine, when are you planning on sending your invites out?

I am sending my list to the calligrapher in early august. She said she does it in about a week, but just in case there are any screw ups, she prefers to do it earlier rather than later.

Mine were done in a day..I was amazed...

Last night I spent the whole night numbering RSVP cards and foling them...ahh good fun.

I want to get them out the middle of August..we have a few OOT people and want to make sure we give them a lot of time..plus I am in the very begining of Nov so I have to give final head count the second week of oct.

I'm sending my invites out by the second week of Sept.. We have a lot of OOTs and the rooms are blocked until mid Oct, so I want to give them a chance to reserve rooms.

I'm just finishing up my DIY invites - they're taking forever - 130 layered pocketfolds - who knew?

Then it's onto the other things like the something old/new/blue/borrowed, finding shoes, hair/make-up trials, menus, bathroom baskets, programs, finding a picture location, etc.

I can't believe it's only 4 months away!!!!

I believe the callligraphy will take 2-3 weeks, i plan onsending them out maybe the second week of September, my response date is 1 month before the wedding, so i feel that should be plenty of time

Hi girls...

Who are you all using for calligraphy? I have no idea who to use for that...

And I still need to order my invites! I have to get that done within the next week...I have been totally slacking on that. We know what we want - just been lazy about it.

Also question for girls whose ceremony is at the reception site...are you getting limos??? I'm getting ready at home so I would only need a limo for myself and BM's and parents to get us to the hall and that's it. Also the hall is only 15 - 20 minutes from my parent's house where we're getting ready. Not sure any limos will want such a quickie job...??? Just looking for some feedback on that. Thanks!!!

Also someone asked about rehearsal dinners...mine is all set b/c we're doing it at FH's brother's house on Thanksgiving. Killing 2 birds with one stone. Would have to host all the family and OOT's on Thanksgiving - so we're just doing it a T-giving dinner / RD in one! Will have night before wedding to just relax and get a good night's sleep.

Hi there! We aren't using limos. It just doesn't seem worth it. The only difference is that I'll be getting ready at the place. I figure I'll probably just drive myself over there! I had to find some ways to cut costs

Yeah it may be a waste for me too....but I'd need a big enough car for me and my dress! So I'll see.

heather - who are you using for calligraphy?

I'm using The Artist's Hand Calligraphy. She did my matron of honor's invitations a few years ago and they came out great. She's very reasonably priced too. Fm me for more info.

We are planning on using Inkspun on the recommendation of a fellow bride (and LIW'er). They have a website you can check out.

I also slacked on ordering my invites but felt SOOOO much better once I finally did. They arrived yesterday and I love them!

As for limo's, we are getting them. I'm getting ready at our house and FH is getting ready at his parents house which is about 5 mins away from us. The reception site is about 40 minutes from us and, we figure, we only get married once so we'll splurge. I've also arranged for a limo to take FH's parents and other members of the bridal party back to one location so they can get their cars.

November will be here before we know it!

So is everyone basically using a month before as your RSVP by date?

I'm using October 1, 2006 as my RSVP date. And I plan on sending out my Invites the end of August b/c of some OOT guests, and b/c it is on a Thursday.... I'm getting the guest list ready as we speak for the calligrapher. I plan on using ALL TYPE CALLIGRAPHY... They are in Plainview, so it's easy for me to drop them off and pick them up... I'm too afraid of sending things in the mail this close to the wedding...

As soon as this is done, I have to do Tuxes w/ FH,
Get Shoes
Grooms Gifts
Hair Style, STILL!
Make Photo Box
Do Engagement pics
Order the Runner
Get Undergarments
Find hair accessories
Finalize the HM
Go dress shopping with FMIL & Mom
and deal with BMs that don't call...........

I still can't believe November is right around the corner!!!

Where did you or where are you getting your ring bearer pillow from? I don't want to spend too much.. any suggestions?

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

I've selected the tuxes (the guys still have to be measured).

My biggest concern right now is the hair & make-up as well as the MOB dress. My mom is really dragging her feet (ok she's really busy) but we're approaching the four month mark!

Is anyone else having a hard time believing it's only 4 months away!!!!

Ok as silly as this sounds i saw a MArtha Stewart episode not too long ago about making your own RB pillow (using an existing small pillow). I'm sure those instructions are on the website.

Also I see RB pillows at Hallmark stores, various craft stores and Walmart. They're usually pretty inexpensive.
