i know a few of us have had the same issue of our moms not getting their dresses yet, sooo
i am so excited because my mom and i went looking this weekend and she found a dress, i am so happy i thought it was going to take forever because she is extremely picky, but we found one, a little more than she wanted to spend, but i told her just get it if you love it so she did
i feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders
now on to my FMIL

Hey! My wedding is 11/05 and I am sending my invites out the last week of August do you think I should try to send them sooner?!?!?!?

Hi Date Twin! I'm sending my invites out by 8/18 because I have almost 1/2 of my guests out of town. My rsvp date is 10/1. I think the last week of August is fine, too.

You lucky lucky girl! Hopefully my mom will find one soon. At least my FMIL has gotten hers! She's more excited than my mom!

I am thinking of buying slippers so that if my feet hurt I can change into them at the reception. Being that it will be November, do you think I should get ballet slippers or a cute pair of sneakers?

I read on here somewhere that if we are planning to do this.. make sure to have the dress fitted with the slippers/sneakers b/c if you have yoiur dress fitted with your heels and then change into slippers you might end up tripping on your dress.

I'm using flip flops instead because my place is right on the water so I'll wear the flip flops while I take pics on the beach and then wear my other shoes for the ceremony, CH and 1st dance and then change back to the flip flops. My shoes and flip flops are pretty close to the same height.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

I finally got back on track with the wedding planning...I hit my 4 month mark yesterday...freaked me out a little that I still have so much to do!

Over the weekend I got a few things done:
- Ordered ketubah
- Ordered FG dresses
- Got my 'something blue' (wearing a nice blue hanky panky thong!)
- Booked ceremony music
- Ordered Unity Candle
- got my wedding band
- got a ton of really nice silk leaves at Michael's that flower girls will drop instead of rose petals...will also sprinkle these on tables around the CP's with votives

Still need:
- Ring Bearer pillows
- bra, shoes for me
- order yarmulkes
- take engagement pics
- FH's wedding band - he can't decide!
- figure out who will cater our Thanksgiving rehearsal dinner for 75 people! (just realized what better place to ask for ideas than LIW...I will post on BHB board for suggestions on caterers)

AND I'm ordering invites either today or tomorrow!!!

If any of you are looking for nice silk leaves...go to Michael's. I had ordered some from Oriental Trading that I didn't like...also tried some from Terry's Village.com that I didn't like...they were too fake looking. The ones from Michael's are the nicest I have seen...they come only 20 in a bag I think for 99 cents a bag so I bought 20 bags. I might need more.

Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

Im kind of freaking out a little bit about all that I have left to do......I finally sent out the rest of my STD's. I pulled out my invitation supplies to start my initations, I have so many ideas just so hard to pull them all together, and I have to word my invite - I didn't think it would be that hard but FH & I can't agree on wording. I'm starting to think that maybe I overestimated my time and wont have time to finish my DIY projects....

AC moore, this week has ring pillows, flower girl baskets, & signin & pen sets on Sale...I bought a book & pillow, as back up in case I don't finish MY DIY's.
Also ALL paper & Stickers are 40% off, got alot of supplies.

yay! bellaeyes and i have another date twin!!

we're gonna order our invitations (225! ) hopefully by the end of this week- holy crap, thats the first week of august!

where did this summer go?!?!

well, i also havent begun to look for flowers or limos. i dont want to spend a ton of money on flowers, and i really only want roses (those arent really pricey, right?)

things we can check off include:

church
reception place (both done since dec, but it makes me feel good to be able to check things off)
band and dj
bridesmaid/jr bm and fg dresses (theyre actually in!)
my dress (here too!)
invitations by the end of the week

other than flowers and limo, what else is there? hmm. somebody clue me in please! and hurry- i dont have much time

Yay another date twin... we're all over the place now!!!

Some things to add to the list (if you're doing them):
Favors
Photo/Video
Dress accessories (shoes, underwear, garter, jewelry)
Rehearsal Dinner
BP gifts
Wedding bands
Tuxes

Some other things would probably be mostly the little extras, like menus, programs, rice/petals/bubles, cry packs or whatever you're adding to the ceremony and reception...
