Re: OFFICIAL November 06 thread

Girls, I'm beginning to have a meltdown. All of a sudden I feel so stressed. September and October are the most busy months at work...I don't know what I was thinking getting married in November. I hate hate HATE my job and the fact that it is keeping me here late when I have so much to do for the wedding is even a bigger pain in the @ss. I don't know how I'm gonna get it all done. I live in NJ too...which doesn't help because everything has to be on the weekends and some of my vendors are not being cooperative about it and keep cancelling appointments!

Sorry to vent...just wondered if anyone was in the same boat.

I'm right there with you. I currently have a staff of ZERO (none of my open positions have been filled) so work is crazy. I live and work in the city and am trying to schedule appts after work on LI with my vendors...it's completely stressing me out and I feel like I'm going to spend every night commuting to LI!!

But we just have to remember it will all be worth it in the end. Right?!?!?!?!?

I just remembered I forgot to share what else I got done this weekend....well not me but it was stressing me out. My mom and FMIL both ordered their dresses finally!

I have a funny story - I felt like such a bridezilla for the first time. FMIL is telling myself and FH's aunt what 2 of the dresses she liked look like. She was saying she was going to definitely go with one of these dresses. She describes one and it sounds fine...then she describes the next one and I get the biggest knot in my stomach b/c the bottom skirt part to it was a pick-up bottom which is what the bottom of my dress is! So all of a sudden I'm picturing my FMIL and me in the same style dress and I wasn't happy! I ran it by my mom and sisters and they all agreed I had to tell her she just has to go with the other dress b/c she can't be in a dress so similar to mine. So I did tell her but I felt terrible but she was totally fine with it. She said she'll just go with the other dress she liked. I definitely think she was more leaning towards this one but oh well. She was laughing and saying she's so glad I told her b/c she would have had the worst reputation as the b!tch mother-in-law trying to upstage the bride! It turned out funny but I felt so bad about bringing it up and telling her she couldn't get it.

Awww! That's not Bridezilla-ish at all. I think we would have all had the same or a similar reaction.

I totally agree, not bridezilla-ish and i think you handled it really well!

First off.. lots of

I understand how you feel... I work midnights for my job, and while trying to do overtime and make extra money, I get home around 9 am and I do wedding stuff, then I realize I never slept, then I have to leave for work in a few hours. This goes on ALL week long, and by the time the weekend arrives I'm shot! As much as I really enjoy doing all the DIY stuff and planning, I really can't wait for it to be over.. Just the planning, not the wedding If you need help, please ask though. I don't get sleep, but if you need anyhting, I'm here!!!

Oh....!!!! I forgot to update after the weekend! I booked my Rehearsal Dinner

After lots of searching, and aggravation. I went to Bertucci's on RT 110 and booked the RD there! FH and I are paying for EVERYTHING with NO help, so we couldn't afford to spend another thoudsand dollars just for a Rehearsal Dinner... Bertucci's has 2 private rooms there and a catering menu that starts at $13, $15, $18, $21, $23..... That's it! We are only having around 18 people And they were so great to talk to! So far, I totally reccommend this place!

OH! And I found Shoes!!!!!
I went to Craft shoes in Commack and Alyssa helped me. If you go there ask for her to help you. She's about 30 or so and knows her stuff. The men there just aren't helpful and if it wasn't for her, I would've left empty handed....

I don't think that was a bridezilla moment at all. I think we all would have reacted the same way. And to be honest with you, I think you saved her from being embarrassed even more!

I am sorry that you feel so overwhelmed! I also have so much to do for the wedding still. I work 2 jobs and I am out of the house from 7:30am to 11:00pm Mon-Fri, and 9:30am to 11:00pm on Saturday's. So I only have Sunday to get things done. I try so hard to get things done, but I feel like I need more time (months). I know in the end we will all get it done, but it is so stressful getting there. But again, in the end it will get done somehow and our days will be beautiful!!!

Thanks! I guess I just felt bad about it b/c I'm just really laid back about everything. But like you and she both said - I definitely saved her from being embarassed!

Yikes.....my wedding is late November so I haven't hit that point yet where I'm making all those appts...that will stress me out too! I'm going to try to space them all out so I don't get too overwhelmed.

I was the same way, but it's okay! It's almost like opening all the gifts twice! The second time is finding out WHO they're from!!!
