My FH is so lame/cute

So my FH had told me that he bought the ring (duh-head ), so I knew the proposal was coming.

At the time, we had a cruise to Bermuda coming up, so I assumed he was going to do it then,

On my birthday a few days before, we had plans to go to dinner in Port Jeff. FH was going to come to my house to pick me up and then we were going to go.

From the moment he walked in the door, I knew he was going to do it. He was acting so wierd and nervous. I told him so, and he said 'no I'm not.'

So, I was like 'ok, whatever' and kept getting ready.

As I'm getting ready he is kneeling on the floor staring into my fishtank

Right before we are getting ready to leave he drops to his knee, whips the ring out, and says 'will you marry me?'

I said yes of course but we couldn't stop laughing.

Apparently he was planning to take me out to the dock in port jeff after we ate, but it was raining

He also said that he was so nervous that he wouldn't have been able to eat at dinner and I would have really thought something was up.

It's kind of cute, but not exactly an exciting story!

Ronnie had originally planned on asking Maria on Saturday June 6, 2009. The two had plans to spend the day on the beach, however Maria was not feeling well that day so they never made it to the beach.

On Sunday morning Maria got a call from Ronnie trying to persuade her to go to the beach rather then going into the city to see a Broadway play they had tickets for. Maria refused, protesting 'the beach will be there next week.' So in a desperate attempt to convince her to go to the beach, Ronnie came over. Within an hour the two were off to Lido Beach.

After spending a good portion of the morning talking and joking with one another Maria began playing with her phone and Ronnie wondered off. Shortly after he called Maria over to come look at something in the sand. Thinking nothing of it, Maria walked over to go see what Ronnie was referring to. There it was, written in the sand, 'Will you marry me?' She gasped and turned to find Ronnie on bended knee asking her to be his wife!

Here goes!

We went to PR last October for vacation. We had been going out 7 and a half years at that point. I was SO sick of hearing from people every time I went away - 'maybe he will propose on vacation' so I pushed it out of my head. We had so much going on at home anyway, that I didn't even catch on to what he was doing. The Thursday before we left, he picked up the ring in the city. He forgot I was off, so he used the excuse that he forgot his wallet in the city (at work). so he went in to get his wallet that day (aka picked up the ring) We left Sunday but were busy with FD dinners etc the entire weekend... Totally didn't catch onto him being weird or anything...
ANYWAY - we are in PR and it was Wednesday (4 days into the trip... He knew I was hungover so we would n't be doing any excursions or anything. He wanted to propose on the beach, so he suggested, going to lay out on the beach. Sure ok.. We get there and he says he didn't feel good and had to go back to the room to 'use the facilities' LOL
again I was clueless.. He went to pick up the three roses he ordered and the ring... He knew I wanted a three stone ring b/c of all the 3 stone jewelry he got me (and bc of the meaning - past present, future)
soo..
He comes to the beach with three roses and hands me a card... It read..
'the rose on the left is for all of the memories we shared together. All of which will never be forgotten and have strengthened our love together.
The rose on the right is for all of our present memories, I love being beside you for all of them.
The rose in the middle is for all of our memories to come. May we learn from the last and be guided by the present.

I thought this was so nice of him, but still didn't see it coming. I turn to him and he was on one knee and asked if I would marry him. I was speechless, and SWORE I said yes LOL but he asked - umm was that a yes or no! lolol
so I jumped up all excited and said YES YES!!

that's my story, and I am sticking to it. I actually got butterflies again typing out what the card said!

Here's my proposal story! I copied an pasted from my wedding website, so please don't my the third person speak.

After deciding that they needed a little getaway together, John and Ashley planned a long weekend trip to Washington DC in May. Little did Ashley know that John had planned on turning this getaway into an engagement trip! After stopping for a nice lunch with Ashley's brother Jason, her sister-in-law Theresa and her niece and nephew, John and Ashley headed to downtown DC. They spent the day looking at the monuments, and went to a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant. After dinner, John suggested that they walk around DC at night to see the monuments lit up. Just to prove how little Ashley suspected of the pending engagement, she demanded that they go back to the hotel so she could change into sneakers and jeans.

The last monument left to see was the Thomas Jefferson memorial, which you get to by walking around the tidal basin. John had planned on proposing on the tidal basin path, but there was a little hitch to the scenario - the path was pitch black! The two hurried along the path as John fretted over proposing in front of large groups in front of the Thomas Jefferson memorial.

As if it were meant to be, the two passed the FDR memorial and stopped to look at the beautiful waterfall. Seizing the moment, John got down on one knee and proposed. And in between what she calls a 'laugh-cry,' Ashley said 'yes!'

Leesah I cried watching this!!! how special to have it happen in front of both your families!!!

FH and I were supposed to go to Washington DC for Valentine's Day weekend. Well DC got hit with foot upon foot of snow that week. So that was a holiday weekend (Monday was the holiday) and we were both off Friday for a 4 day weekend. So Thursday night FH and I decided to go to Vermont to go cross country skiing (I can't ski or snowboard look like a spaz), tubing and snowmobiling. So we drove up on Friday had a great day, found our B&B, went to dinner, a local bar for drinks. On Saturday morning FH told me he had a surprise for me that night but wouldn't tell me what. So after going cross country skiing he told me to wear something warm, so I got dressed in jeans and a warm sweater and hat, gloves, scarf. So in the car I’m bugging FH about where we are going. FH tells me 'we're going to Dave's for dinner' (this is a friend of FH from HS who lives in VT that we don't see often.) so I was like ok cool. So we're driving along and we come into this cute little town and I see a horse and carriage in a parking lot. I pointed it out to FH and said AWW look at that. FH didn't say anything but turned the corner and I was looking out my window and he pulled into the parking lot. now FH has a random thought process and will approach people about the most random things, so I thought he was going to ask the horse and carriage guy something. So the guy walks over to the car and says are you Frank? And FH goes yes and he goes are you Leah and I go yeah...and he goes come miss your chariot awaits! I looked at FH and was like no way! He goes surprise!!! So we got out of the car, and FH grabbed some beer he had packed in our cooler to supposedly bring to his friends house and we got in the carriage. So we take this nice long ride and it starts lightly snowing as we get to a covered bridge so we go under the bridge and start heading back. So as we're heading back the 'driver' turns into this driveway of this old mansion that is part of the historical society. So we pull up and stop. I thought the ride was over. So the guy goes, miss look to your right. So I look over and on the deck is a table with a lantern and a basket on it and a bottle of champagne. So me being me goes oh who are those for? And the guy goes you and I go oh ok. So fh helps me down and we walk over. So we're talking and Fh hands me the champagne ad goes can you open this and walks down the deck a bit so I go to open it but manage to pop the cork out and hit myself in the eye!!! So after a few minutes of oww oww FH sees I’m ok and pours us 2 glasses. He hands me mine and then put his down on the table. So I am looking out at the lawn and FH goes come here and I turn around and he drops to one knee and says 'Leah Marie Gl.........will you marry me?' Of course I start crying and drop down on my knees and start hugging him and kissing him and then he goes well? and I go yes yes yes yes!!! then he goes but you havn't seen the ring yet!!! and I go I don't care i'll marr you any way and he hands me a box and then I open it and he slips it on my finger!!! I was totally shocked!!! It was amazing, perfect and beautiful!!! We have the empty bottle of champagne now on a shelf and the cork is in a jar we have filled with shells.
O and something a little cute/funny about this. Due to the snow I took off of work for 2 days prior to us leaving. FH had been planning to ask my dad to stop at the house one night after work before I got home but he couldn't b/c I was home. So we're up in VT and he still hadn't spoken to my dad and I had just gotten out of the shower and he goes hey what's your parent’s home number? I only have their cells and I need to tell your dad something about the Yankees so I rattled it off and went on to blow dry my hair. Apparently FH had called the horse and carriage guy while I was in the shower and said it might be a no go b/c he hadn't asked my dad yet and he would text him and let him know. So FH called my dad and of course he said yes!! Then he texted the horse and carriage dude.
can you tell I love this story??

So, my FH and I do this thing called geo-caching...its pretty much scavenget hunting all over the place with coordinates, clues and a GPS. You find boxes with Log books that say the name of that cache, and you sign it, and then put something in, and take something with you-its awesome...ANYHOW- we were going up to the top of the Gordon Levy preserve to sit and have breakfast one morning, and he said he wanted to get a geo-cache up there. So, I found it and I sit down and open the box, and the log book said 'johnny and alicia...Day one' and when I turned and asked him 'what is this??' He was down on one knee with the ring, and said 'Alicia, will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?' !!!!!

At first I didn't even notice a ring!!! I was on my knees, so I like, knee-ran over to him to hug him..and then I saw the ring-- WHOA!!!

And here is the best part- while I was looking for the geo-cache, he had set up his digital camera over on a rock or something, so...I HAVE VIDEO OF MY PROPOSAL!!!!!! Can you believe that!!! this is a freeze frame from that!

Awww.. I love it!!!

It was Dec. 19, the day before my Birthday. We were supposed to go to dinner because we were having dinner with the whole family (me, FH, my mom and all our girls (4 in total). I fell asleep and when FH woke me I was cranky and bitc hing that I did not want to go. My mom keep harping 'Just go he's hungry.'

So anyway I get up and dressed. It's snowing outside pretty heavy so instead of my favorite Mexican Restaurant we head to Prima Pasta near my house. FH parks so far in the lot (there are plenty of spaces closer) I'm bit ching wading through the snow and puddles. There are about 3 other couples in there. We have great food and I have some wine. Just about when we are getting dessert FH's phone starts ringing I actually thought it was one of the kids. It's our friend I hear him say he locked his keys in the car and can FH drop him the extra set (he had done some work on the car the day before). FH told him right after we finish dessert.

FH tells me we are just going to drop the keys and go. I tell him 'Well what the hell else would we do over there' Anyway we drive over and FH can't remember the exact block he lives on. So he calls his friend who tells him he will meet him on the corner so FH tells me to walk with him. I am cold and don't want to but for some reason the heat in the car is not that great.

We get to the boardwalk and I see some guy I'm like that's him. But it wasn't. We also start laughing that there is a guy riding a bike in about 3 inchs of snow.

Anyway I turn around to look at the water because we went up to the boardwalk to look for him from the top. When I turn around FH is on one knee in the snow with my ring. Takes my hand and says 'So will you....' I'm in SHOCK. He pulled it off so well. He took me to the beach because that is where he asked me to be his GF 7+ years before.

Anyway I know it's long. Thanks for reading. Gotta say I love FH just for making it so romantic even though I was a total Biotch

soo we had looked at rings a few times and talked about getting engaged over and over again....i had just stopped guessing because i kept getting my hopes up haha..

Well it was just another summer weekend and FH was working on a Saturday (which wasn't unusual at all ). I was suppose to visit his parents to go to a family friends piano recital that had been planned for a while. So FH gets up puts on his suit, kisses me goodbye and heads off to work. I got up and got on the train to his parents house.

My FFIL picked me up at the train station ( as he'd done several time before) and we headed to their house. As I'm heading into the house and my FMIL yells from the back yard ' HEY KILA COME HERE!' I was thinking, 'it's 100 degrees out why is she outside!?'

Well...I walk into the back yard standing there is my father, mother, sister - FH's brother, mom, dad , aunt , uncle, cousin and a handful of family friends ( NOTE: My family all lives in WISCONSIN!!!!)

So I'm just like *** is going on!? FH takes a step forward and I see a blue box in his hand. I started crying and hugging him immediately and he asked me to be his wife in front of our entire family. I said YES and we spent the entire day celebrating!

He flew out and coordinated my entire family coming in from Wisconsin (and my parents are divorced soooo it couldn't have been easy haha!)

It was the best day.

My story is not super exciting.

Fh calls me the morning of July 3rd 'from work', and asks me to go to my car and see if his wallet was there (the night before we went to the yankee game, and i remembered him taking it out). So I start freaking out because we were leaving for vacation the next day, so of course he would need his wallet. So I literally ran out the house, braless, without my glasses or contacts and in pajamas. After searching for 20 minutes, I couldn't find it, so i ran back upstairs, and as i was approaching the dog, I noticed it was being held open by a black object (i couldn't see since i am blind as a bat without my contacts. Turns out, it was a big black vase with sunflowers). Anyhow, FH was standing in the middle of the living roon and came to me, and brought me to the middle, got down on one knee and asked.

He tricked me because all along I was convinced he would do it on july 4th (our anniversary), but he did it a day before.

And he actually wasn't at work. He hung out at dunkin donuts for 2 hours to make it seem like he went to work.

It was March 13, 2010. Eric and I, along with my parents were getting ready to attend the annual Community Ambulance Company Dinner. I Have been to a few of these since Eric and I started dating so getting all dressed up and rushing around so we wouldn't be late was usual for the event. Tonight was special because Eric was recently voted in as 2nd Asst. Chief and he was officially being installed as such that night. My parents were there because my father is a member of the company, and Eric's parents and brother were there because the Chiefs are allowed to invite their families to see them get installed. Most of the ceremony Eric was standing up in front to help with the other installations so i was sitting with my parents and his. When it came time for the Chiefs to be installed my mom told me to go up there to take a picture. After the actual installation was complete, and everyone was clapping and shaking hands I was given a bouquet of flowers and Eric asked me to stay on the dance floor. He took the microphone and said he wanted to thank me for being such a good girlfriend...for understanding when he's late to dinner, or comes home late for a call...( at this point i think he's just giving me the 'thanks for being a good girlfriend speech') then he said the words that changed my whole life. 'Kacie, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Will You Marry Me?'. Everyone in the room started cheering and clapping. I freaked out! I never expected Eric to do something like that! Apparently very few people were in on it. He asked my father of course and his parents knew. The one person besides close family he told was his good friend James who thankfully brought a video camera and caught it all on tape!!

THE SCRIPT: Erik's in the DJ booth, announcing raffle prize winners. LindZ hands prizes to VOs who step from the crowd.

SUDDENLY: Erik goes off-script ...

He dashes from the DJ booth, kneels before the woman he'd met exactly one year ago to the day - at the first New York VO Mixer - and asks: 'LindZ, will you marry me?'

Gasps, whoops and hollers follow from the crowd, and the ___________ camera captures it all (below).

Yes, we'd known that Erik and LindZ planned to marry. But there'd not been a formal proposal.

'I was shocked!' says LindZ, beaming later with a diamond on her ring finger. And we assume she answered, 'Yes!'

The bride-to-be is an accomplished voice actor specializing in character voices.

The groom-to-be is an accomplished voice actor, owner of ________________ - a voice-over marketplace - and a witty and lucky guy.

For as long as FH and I have talked about getting married, he's always said 'an engagement ring is not a Christmas gift.....'

We had been dating 4 years, and had gone on a few amazing vacations, all of which I was wondering if it would happen then....nope

Birthdays, anniversary's, even Christmas's passed, and still nothing. I was starting to think it was never going to happen!

Last December, FH and I did our annual Christmas shopping at Roosevelt Field and we walked passed a few jewelry stores and he asked me to give him some ideas for what I want for Christmas I told him 'you know what I want' (meaning the e-ring) He said, 'Danielle, we've talked about this, I'm not getting it for you for Christmas' So I said 'then get me a freekin pink snuggie, that's all I want.'

So Christmas morning finally came, It was our first year living together, and my first Christmas morning not being home with my parents. He woke up before me, as usual and I woke up a little after him. I went in the bathroom did my normal routine, and I swear to god, for the first time in my life looked in the mirror as I was brushing my teeth said 'don't get your hopes up Danielle, he said its not gonna happen'

So Christmas morning went pretty normally, we passed gifts to each other, watched elf. Normal stuff. He handed me my last gift, and said 'This is all you wanted for Christmas' I said ' My snuggie...woohoo!!'

So I tore the paper off, ripped the box open and pulled out the snuggie, and a small box fell out. Now the thought crossed my mind that this better not be another pair of earrings, but even before I could finish the thought he had the box in his hand. I started saying 'oh my god, oh my god, you're freekin kidding me' over and over again. He said some really amazing things to me and obviously lol I said yes! I ran around our living room yelling and jumping up and down and called my mom. FH got the ring at Zales, where my mom works, and she kept her mouth shut! Only my parents, and his parents knew.

It was kinda awesome getting engaged on Christmas because we were able to celebrate with our entire families the whole day. Everyone was thrilled, and so happy to be spending this special day with us

So I am super late on this thread....lol.

One day after work, I came home and was ready to sit him down and talk to him about the future. I get home, put the baby on the bouncer and sat down to read my mail and relax. He comes over and sits on the other couch and asks me for water. I was 2 secs away from telling him to get it himself...lol. I get back and continue checking my mail and talking ****...lol. He tells me to look at the baby and that he has a gift for me. On the side of the baby, there was a bottle. Inside was the birth announcement we sent out to people. It was really cute. He said his coworker made it for us. He told me to open it, but I didn't want to mess it up. There was a piece of paper used as a cork with a ribbon on it. As I opened it, it said 'Mami will you marry Papi' As I turned around, there he was on his knees asking me to marry him...I kept saying oMG!! I was in shock....turns out he had a hidden camera by the TV in the living room recording it...LOL
