Carmines on Saten Island is great (italian/seafood)...I also like Real Madrid, decor could be better but the Spanish food is fab...

oh if you go to real madrid, i always recommend (for chicken lovers) the chicken ajillo, it's garlic marinated chicken...tastes soooo good, i had it this past weekend

Benihana

Fabio's (in Merrick on Merrick Rd.) - Italian

Piccolo Bussola (sp?) (Old Country Rd. not sure what town) - Italian

Matteo's (in Bellmore on Bedford Ave.) - Italian (and their napoleon is to die for!!)

Pio Pio on Woodhaven blvd. in queens....i LOVE their peruvian chicken Mmmm...... its a great casual place (its real small) and it REAL cheap! lol good for a random nite with the girls....

ok i usually always have a place or two in mind when we want to go out to eat but for some reason im at a loss tonight...Fh and i want to go out to dinner but somewhere different, im in the mood for seafood...i was thinkinjg of just going to sheepshead bay brooklyn on the water theres a bunch of restaurants there and its nice. Fh also mentioned city island since hes never been there but eh i have and not sure if im in the mood for city island. Anyone have suggestions, doesnt have to be seafood necessarily but no japanese we had asian fusion last night, well its called Frenasia and its in howard beach.

also places in the city or LI but nassau county, not that far, i dont want to get stuck in alot of traffic.

hmmm maybe i should make my own thread

ok the boards are slow now but if anyone reads this later on, we decided on a place so dont need recommendations..i told him either city island or Nolita sectionh of downtown manhattan(love this area) and FH said he really is in the mood to try city island and his mother recommended a restaurant that she went to last summer and really raved about.

Mine are some east end recommendations - just in time for summer!!

Cyril's - Montauk Highway in Napeague (right before the highway splits to go to Montauk). This place is the east end hangout. Enjoy drinks, po'boy sandwiches, burgers, etc. before you head into Montauk....or after a long day at the beach. You will NEVER find a good parking spot! Cheapish ($10 burgers).

Duryea's - Montauk. Cheap, opens at 5 (?), and is BYOB. Best sunsets you'll ever witness. You almost feel like you're in a foreign country. Seafood (but I always get steak).

Topside (at Gosman's Dock) - Montauk. Not cheap. Sit up top, have some dinner and watch the fishing ships come in during the late afternoon. Good for seafood.

Nick and Toni's - Eat Hampton. Good place to 'see' and 'be seen' - if you're into that. Mediterranean food. Make a reservation!! Expensive.

Blue Parrot - East Hampton. GREAT mexican in a really laid back setting. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Try a margarita, the are fantastic!

The Driver's Seat - Southampton. Good causal food. Their soups are always awesome. last time I was there though, the serivce was pretty bad. Cheap.

The Elbow Room - Jamesport. This is my parents ALLLLLLLLLL time favorite place. Even though they've moved to Florida they STILL talk about it. If you love steak, there is really no other place that compares. Their maranade is top notch and is a total secret. Critics have been trying to figure it out for years! Its a SMALL little place (they also own The Elbow Room II, and Cliff's Rendezvous), and they don't take reservations. Best bet is to do an early dinner. This is an expensive place, so go for a special occasion, but believe me! You will NOT leave hungry. (Oh man, I want a steak RIGHT NOW)

Love love love the Elbow Room!!!!!!!

How far is jamesport? i don't even know what part of LI it is. I would try it another time.

I also changed where were going tonight, going to the city to Tony DiNapoli's.
