Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

Hey Everyone! First of all congratulations, the Sand Castle is a beautiful venue!!!
Can't believe I'm finally planning my wedding haha anyway I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to PM me the quotes, I'm afraid to call and be really disappointed with the prices haha. Anyway we're thinking of maybe even having a winter wedding (if the price difference would be significant) and also because I do like winter weddings but any information you guys provide will be helpful! Congrats again and thank you!

A winter wedding would definitely lower the price. And if you are willing to do it on a Friday or Sunday you are looking at major money saving too. Also I don't know how far into the planning process you are yet but they include tax and gratuity in their quotes so make sure you keep that in mind because at first I thought it was a lot but then I realized once you add tax and gratuity into the other halls, plus all the extras you get at the SC included that you would pay extra for at a lot of other halls, it's really not anymore expensive.

Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

Thank you so much Blondybride and KristynLeigh.
Both your replies were very helpful! How do I go about scheduling a meeting, do I just call? and do they do food tasting?
(sorry for bombarding you guys with questions haha as of now I'm clueless)
BTW I'm so happy to know that their prices already include tax Gratuity

this!
we had an appointment there and the owner came in and invited us to have something to eat since there was a wedding going on but we had to make it to another appointment somewhere else for a tasting. we tasted the other place's food and realized we should have tasted something at SC. we called as we left the other venue and Will said 'no problem, see you in a half hour' and had a tasting ready to go when we got there.

they are awesome.

Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

also ladies, i figured I would give you an update on my hotel block research. FH and I stopped by la quinta (just because of the free shuttle), hilton garden inn, and hyatt place yesterday. No sales reps were there to give us rates but it was our last day in town so we figured we would at least go check out the rooms.

La Quinta seemed fine, pretty standard and seemed like it would be good on a budget, there was a smokey smell throughout the hallway, which kinda bothered me.

Hilton Garden Inn just finished renovation in the last month and looked so much nicer than it did when i stayed there for my sister's wedding last feb (even then, i liked the hotel and it was clean and comfortable)

Hyatt Place was really nice too. very new and modern and the rooms are huge. plus no matter what kind of room you get there's an L-shaped couch that has a queen pull out in it. i thought that was particularly useful for our friends from college who will most likely try to fit a few people in a room.

Have not yet heard back from the reps on rates, but FM me if you're looking for more feedback or info on the rates when i get them.

Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

Speaking of hotels, for those of you who have gone to SC showcases, are hotel reps there? I don't plan on going to one until September... Thanks!

Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

when we went we saw garden city hotel reps there, and booked with them but eventually changed our minds when we had to actually deal with them, they had attitudes galore. we ended up falling in LOVE with Viana and booked our room block and our rooms with them. if you do book with Viana talk with Terrence Cooper not Joanna

Its a looooove!
I want to go in to drop off a payment. Do I need to call ahead or just go? And is it easier for them if we stop by during the week or during weekends?

Re: *~~ Official Sand Castle Thread ~~*

I usually go during the week, Loula is usually there til 9. If you go on a weekend you gotta be there by 3 I think. It's better to give them a heads up but I've just popped in before and never had an issue
