I just wanted to say hello to all my fellow Swan Club brides.
How is your planning coming along?

Re: Hi Swan Club Brides
KarenB,
Are you taking pictures before your ceremony so that you can attend your cocktail hour?
I'm undecided at this point....
Also, have you seen the bridal suite? Is it nice? Suitable for a large bridal party?
Just wondering...thanks!

Re: Hi Swan Club Brides
Believe me...it does go quickly...
We booked the Swan Club in July 2003 and October 2004 seemed so far away...
It's now May and we have 5 months to go!

Re: Hi Swan Club Brides
Somehow w/my many trips to the Swan Club I didn't see the Bridal suite. I am going there on Tuesday so I will let you know about it on Wednesday.
We are 'seeing each other for the first time' at our apartment. We live together. He will sleep at his parent's the night b/4. We live in a pre war brick building w/a lovely courtyard. We are going to stage the meeting and take pictures there w/our BP which consists of my sister as my MOH and our BM. then we are going to the Swan Club. We are having a 2nd limo pick up our immediate families and bring them to the Swan Club for 4:30 p.m. We are also having other family members get there early so we can get all posed pictures out of the way b/4 the cocktail hour. We are going to have them bring food to us in the suite so we can eat quickly and then attend the cocktail hour where we will be greeting everyone.

We could make this an official Swan Club thread, does anyone know how to do that?

Karen go to your orginal post and hit edit, change the subject box to say something like the offical swan club thread..thanks!!
At first, I really didn't want my FH to see me before the ceremony. I wanted that 'element of surprise' as I walked down the aisle.
However, I was thinking that if we don't take pictures until right after our ceremony, we'll miss our cocktail hour and so will our bridal party and immediate family members because they'll be with us taking pictures!
So.....I may do something similar as far as getting everyone together at the Swan Club before our ceremony.
Feedback anyone?

Official Swan Club Brides thread
I thought about the element of surprise too and not seeing each other b/4 the ceremony. A lot of people I spoke too told me everything changes when you are coming down the aisle and that it is just as fresh and exciting and emotional as if they haven't seen you.

Official Swan Club thread
My ceremony (in the carriage house!) starts at 5:30 p.m. but the BM from the Swan Club said to put 5:00 p.m. on my invitations - based on prior weddings and guests arriving late.
I'm wondering what happens to the guests who arrive on time....are they directed to the Pavillion where they sit and wait 1/2 hour for the ceremony to begin?
p.s. I've heard that some caterers provide chamgagne and strawberries or something like that for the guests while they wait....

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Hi Leslie, we did the same thing ( 5:00 on invites, 5:30 ceremony). They are giving out champagne and water for people who arrive on time. We have a friend playing acoustical guitar for our guests and then he will play when my MOH comes down the aisle and then he is playing the Wedding march for me.

Re: Official Swan Club thread
KarenB,
Oh good...I'm glad to hear about the champagne...
We're using a DJ recommended by the Swan Club (L&S Entertainment).
The DJ is going to play the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
I bought a CD of beautiful, classical wedding music which I'll want him to play for the 1/2 hour our guests are waiting for our ceremony to begin.
Then, before the bridal party processional, the ceremony will start with the prelude, 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire' and our ceremony which officially begin!

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Hi Swannies! Thanks for the 'carriage house' idea. I'm tired of calling it the boat house. That is where I'm having my cocktail hour. Dinner is in the Garden room. I can't believe it is 3 weeks away! By the way, does anyone know if they have any tables that accommodate 12 people? I hate to break up some of our groups of friends because the table seats 10.

Hi Sag. You can do tables of 12. We have mostly tables of 10 and 12 but some odd numbered ones just do to who needed to sit where.
