Re: Official Swan Club thread
Sag530, I think they do have tables that seat up to 12, but im my opinion it will took tight, when we first went there they had sent up for a Bar Mitzma (sp?) sorry and they had 12 at some tables but mostly 10's, I think it's too crowded with all the tableware and CP's..

Pookiesangel: see if you can ge the '05 Swan Club brides to post, I'd love to get their feed back & thoughts. Turns out there are a lot of Swannies.
As far as seating, I suppose 12 could be tight, I would more so go with who wants to sit w/who.

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Thanks for the feedback. There are just a few tables where I'm sure everyne would rather be a little cramped, but sit together rather then be at a table of strangers. Has anyone picked out their cake. We are picking out our menu on Tuesday, and I still don't know what kind of cake to ask for. Any ideas? We plan are taking picutres on the grounds prior to the cocktail hour. Anyone know how much before your party you can arrive?

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Hi Sag...... where to start, I know w/Cake.
We are having a tiered cake, pagoda style, i.e. they look likes boxes on top of each other, w/the one on top being a bit smaller than the one below. We are havinga fondant finish and they are putting small pearls made of icing on the bottom of each tier. Then our florist is decorating w/flowers and we are having a cake topper put in front of the cake, not on top. Also, we are having canoli filling.
Our ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m. We can arrive no earlier than 4 pm.

Yes! Already done I posted the link on that thread too :)
Who is your BM? I have Barbara Sharvin, she is really nice and helpful.
ANd she told us, we could have basically any type of cake, but if we wanted the tiers separated, we'd need to pay extra for the stands. and any really fancy decorations would be an upgrade as well.
My cousin had her wedding their and the cake was really tasty.. she had whipped cream & strawberries on the 'box cake' too..

KarenB,
What is a 'fondant' finish?
I've heard that term used many times and I don't know what it means??
Is there an extra charge for that?

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Hi Leslie:
Fondant finish is the really smooth finish. I didn't know what it was either until I showed my florist a picture of the cake I like and he told me it is fondant finish. Some folks posted it doesn't taste the best. I have no idea about that, the middle will definitely be yummy. We are having chocoloate mousse and added in pastries and chocoloate covered strawberries. So even if the fondant doesn't taste good, it will look awesome.
I'll see if I can find a picture.

Re: Official Swan Club thread
Hello again Karen....
I've had way too much time on my hands at work today...but I sure have learned a lot from our 'chats'!
Now I know exactly what 'fondant' is...I've seen many pictures of this type of cake...
I love how 'fashionable' cakes have become...and I really like the stacked squares vs. the traditional round style.

Re: Official Swan Club thread
I have, my cousins wedding in July of 2001, and I'm going to my other cousin's wedding this July ...
My cousin's wedding was GREAT! I looked at some many other places, but I kept coming back to Swan Club, especially since it has the garden feel I was looking for, but near the water which is what FH wanted
