**Official VINEYARD CATERERS thread**

Original post by Im a Pepper

Hi Vineyard Caterers girls! I know there's a few of us on here but there's not much of a VC presence on LIW so I wanted to start this thread. Who are the VC brides and what day are you getting married??

ETA: I guess I'll start a VC list!

My one piece of advice for VC brides is to block your hotel rooms asap. My wedding isn't for another 7 months and already my block of rooms at Best Western and Holiday Inn Express are booked!!! And I cannot add on any more rooms because the hotels are SOLD OUT!!

thank you SO much for the advice!! i'm sooo nervous about blocking rooms. i really don't know how many we'll need and how many to block off.

One thing that you have on your side is that they are building another hotel right near the Tanger Outlets. I heard it's going to be a Hyatt or a Hilton. My piece of advice is to reach out to both BW and Holiday Inn and start the block. I did 20 rooms at both hotels and now they are completely sold out. I think i have ONE room left at the Holiday inn.
My other piece of advice is that the Best Western only has one Bridal Suite and Holiday Inn only has a few 'Bridal' Suites. If you want them you should book them asap.

It's going to be a Hilton Garden Inn. It's coming along so far. It will probably be open by Memorial Day.

There's alot of BnB's in the area as well, so that's another option for guests too.

Renee that is awesome. I hope the hilton garden inn is open by my wedding in September. I'm really starting to get nervous as I haven't even sent out my invites and the rooms are sold out at BW and Holiday Inn....

If any of you gals have suggestions for Rehearsal Dinner that would be great. I've been to Cooperage Inn and it's great. We ate at Legends this weekend but they wont do rehearsal dinners on Friday nights

Bill @ VC told me that hilton garden inn will be there. i called Hilton today and they had no record of a construction of a new hotel in that area grrr

I think it will be open by your wedding. They've made alot of progress on it lately. I think they're pushing to get it open for the busy season. When are you going to send out your invites?

I posted on your other thread about looking for restaurant suggestions...but it was alittle late, you may have missed it. What kind of place are you looking for, for the RD? I'm pretty familiar with the area. Let me know what kind of food and the kind of atmosphere you want.

Off hand, you might want to check out PortoBello in Mattituck, Touch of Venice in Mattituck, or Bayview Inn in Jamesport. I'll ask FH for other suggestions. He's a North Fork native. PortoBello is really pretty and rustic, and the food is amazing. Touch of Venice has space outside near the water, so that may be nice too. Again, good Italian food.

Hi there,
These suggestions are fantastic. Honestly, my 'ideal' RD would be a bbq and a clambake. But it's hard to find a place that will do that when you don't have a set venue (ie a house etc.) we looked into renting Pellegrini but it was like planning a 2nd wedding.
we want something casual, fun with good food. Maybe someplace with a water view so we can give our OOT guests the best of both worlds (vineyard during the wedding and water view for RD)

Cooperage inn was DELICIOUS but a little far from the church where were getting married (Cutchogue) Legends was perfect. Water, casual but not TOO casual

Thank you for any information!!! I'm so excited for your wedding. Please, write a review! Did you do a tasting???

BBQ and clambake sounds right up my alley! You can head out to Greenport. I know someone suggested Claudios, but it may be hard on a Friday. The Chowder Pot Pub in Greenport may be worth checking out. They have an outside deck near the water. They're closed until April, but I have 'connections' if you were interested. It is very casual though. There's a BBQ place out there too with an upstairs outdoor deck. If you find a place to rent, you can get a clambake catered from Braun's Seafood, or the Clam Man on the South Fork- I think he does the North Fork too. My FH said that if you know anyone who lives in Southold, to look into Founder's Landing. It's an outdoor venue you can rent, a lot cheaper than a vineyard. Also, while further out, you may want to look into Orient State Park. HTH!

I will definately post a review. I have a week between the wedding and HM, so I'll have plenty of time to post pics! We didn't go for a tasting yet. I'll have to give them a call. I think they told me to come around the 2 month mark.

Oh, with Founder's Landing, I forgot to mention that you or someone you know has to be a Southold resident.

And another restaurant on the water suggestion- Old Mill Inn. I think it's considered to be in Mattituck.

Let me know if you have an interest in the Chowder Pot, my FH and I know the owner. FH said he could get you contact information while they're closed for the winter.

What a great thread! I'm a VC bride too!

Those are some great restaurant recommendations, I am definitely going to look into those. Cooperage is the only one I've tried (and it was great). I'm actually looking for a cocktails venue for the night before and a brunch venue for the morning after - any suggestions?

Also, are you girls planning to put up any screens or curtains across the door leading to the parking lot? I really would like to enter through that door to 'walk down the aisle' to the gazebo, but I don't want the parking lot in my photos...has anyone else thought about where they will be walking from?

Yay, VC brides!

Ok, cocktails suggestions-
The Red Door in Mattituck...it's pretty fancy
though.
Jamesport Manor Inn...also a good rehearsal
dinner place. They have nice private rooms with
fireplaces and local art on the walls.
Legends in New Suffolk- the bar area is pretty
casual.
Diggers in Riverhead- if you're looking to go with
a casual bar.
Lots of places in Greenport if you want to travel.

Brunch suggestions- a little harder to think of...
The Meeting House Inn in Aquebogue.
The Cooperage Inn has a great brunch.
