Hi there-

I am a VC bride as well. my wedding date is 11/29/08. I just went to a showcase today adn booked Absolute Entertainment. Anyone booking them as well. They claimed they were the ONLY DJ the Vineyard recommends. I have my photographer (Duet) now I just need flowers. Any suggestions? I love this thread.

Hi. I'm getting married at VC on October 17, 2008. I'm also using Absolute Entertainment and Duet. We booked Burtons for our flowers. They were very nice and had some great ideas for what we want to use. The price was great also! I'm so excited about getting married at Vineyard Caterers! It is so beautiful and I hear nothing but good things about it!!!

Hi! We booked Burtons too for our flowers. We're going with FM Entertainment though. We went to a showcase and fell in love. Our photographer is a family friend. I can't wait...39 days!

Good luck on your wedding day!! I also booked the guitarist from Absolute to do the music for the cocktail hour. I went to Absolutes showcase and the guitarist, Carl was Awesome!! I also really liked Absolute. Now I just need flowers, favors, invitations and bridesmaid dresses. I welcome all suggestions for the above mentioned. Its hard for us because we live in Queens and dont have a car so getting to some of the places is Really Really hard. but we are very excited. VC was the first place we looked at and after looking at 23 others we went back to them.

Hello ladies!
Well I guess I am the second one to be getting married at VC *** of right now, so its up to us to fill you all in as we go.
I am so excited to be getting married here. My FH and I looked all over and just fell in love with this place and it was affordable! Love the fact that its only 1 wedding at a time, the only down side is the low celings, my FH is very tall, and does not notice much but that. Everything we love.
With regards to the hotel rooms, we booked the Holiday Inn very early and then added more rooms since i was nervous about everyone not getting a room, we have 25 rooms on friday night and then 60 on saturday night with about 40 booked already and the invites havent gone out yet, but we did send out the save the dates with hotel info and the website in which they can go to, to get more info,
We are taking our guests who are staying at the hotel and whomever else wants to go, on a tour of some vineyards on sunday, we are getting married on saturday. We are having a limo bus to transport the guests back and forth to the VC from the hotel, since the hotel only gives you 1 van for every 10 rooms booked, but the vans are not comfortable. We are also using the buses the next day for the wine tour. Does anyone know which vineyards will or will not accept buses, i heard alot dont anymore, but this is my wedding i am wondering of they will look differently that its not a crazy party, well maybe it will be, but not a drunk crazy party.
Has anyone dealt with the cake yet? I am thinking that I am going to have to pay more for my cake with what I want. I guess I should start to deal with that.
I am also stuck on invites, anyone get to those yet, I know I am running out of time.

hi there, VC bride! your wedding is right around the corner! you must be so excited!
I love VC too. the second we stepped inside, FH and I knew we'd be getting married there. we're also not a fan of the low ceilings, but EVERYTHING about VC makes up for it.... one wedding at a time, the beautiful vineyards, the amazing CH with Long Island wine tasting, etc. Our wedding is also on a Saturday and we were thinking of doing the same thing - taking all OOT'ers on a tour of the Vineyards on Sunday. Would you mind sharing the name of the company you're using and also the pricing of the shuttling to and from VC and the vineyard tours? TIA!!!

'S'- hey hun, are you using Serenity's bus??? I want to do the same thing as you with the wine tour so keep me updated!

I love how we are all so excited and know that our day is going to be amazing @ the Vineyard!!! I still need a DJ though- I'm gonna check out absolute and FM during spring break with my FH... thats all we have left!!!

Any ideas on how to bring more color into the main room? We are thinking about having a lighting crew come in, I also want to get some more color up on the staircase- all those white flowers look alittle like a funeral some times.

Seams like alot of us have good taste ~ Burtons and Duet!

Are any of you going to the Bridal Extravaganza @ the Hyatt? I want to go for the givaways ~ I know everything will be pretty much booked by then so I think that will be my last show.

i've been thinking about this a lot lately.... does anyone think it's necessary to hire a DOC or is VC so good that the need for a DOC is eliminated? i'm not a person who easily relinquishes control, so, on my wedding day, if i don't have someone there taking the bull by the horns i think i'll miss my entire day to trying to make sure everything goes perfectly! thoughts?????

From what I've heard, and experienced myself from when I go there... John (the one that calls everyone 'love' and 'boobie' is there for you at every moment you need ANYTHING! I love him so much so far- my mother is in a wheelchair and I have to tell you that John was so in tune with her needs- I've never encountered someone like him. My father and I were so super impressed with him and that was only during our tasting!

yes! i've heard such wonderful things about him!!! even when i called to make appointments with vendors, the first thing they do when I tell them we're getting married at VC is mention how amazing John is. i guess there's really nothing to worry about!

I went on a wine tasting tour with 15 friends in october and we took a limo...another good idea is the north fork trolly!!!! it fits up to 35 people I think and it is sooo cool!! we used it for our wedding transportation!!! check their website(vendor on here) they do packages and plan it out for you too I think! so they would know what winerys are best for your group prob!!

the winerys that took us were lenz,bedell, pellegrini, & macari! I think martha clara will most deff take a large group..they are really big!!!

Hi! I'm a VC bride too! I love it there- I actually wish that FH and I lived closer and could go out there more often. Question? Did anyone else do a tasting before they booked? We did and the food was AMAZING! Another reason why I am that excited - thanks for the info about room by BTW, I'm gonna start making phone calls next weeks- for those of you who have made reserved rooms, do you have to leave $$? How does this work?

Hey Danielle, I'm so glad to hear the food was good! I can't wait to do the tasting! Also, I blocked my rooms already and didn't have to leave a deposit. I blocked rooms at the Best Western. I have to fill a minimum of 10 rooms to get the special rate. If I don't fill the minimum, my guests pay the regular rate. You're not financially responsible for the unbooked rooms. GL!
