Hi! I'm a VC bride too! I love it there- I actually wish that FH and I lived closer and could go out there more often. Question? Did anyone else do a tasting before they booked? We did and the food was AMAZING! Another reason why I am that excited - thanks for the info about room by BTW, I'm gonna start making phone calls next weeks- for those of you who have made reserved rooms, do you have to leave $$? How does this work?

Hey Danielle, I'm so glad to hear the food was good! I can't wait to do the tasting! Also, I blocked my rooms already and didn't have to leave a deposit. I blocked rooms at the Best Western. I have to fill a minimum of 10 rooms to get the special rate. If I don't fill the minimum, my guests pay the regular rate. You're not financially responsible for the unbooked rooms. GL!

i wanted to block rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn too, but when i called their main number they didn't even have record of it being under construction yet that was a few weeks ago so i guess i'm going to check in again in a week or so. i'll let you know how the florist goes!

hi guys! i booked absolute entertainment as the DJ. and we booked carl to play guitar at the CH! i can't wait! it's gonna be such a fun day! i'm meeting w/ burtons next week for flowers!!

OMG so happy to see this thread! I too am a rare poster but I am THRILLED to post on here.... I used to work at the Vineyard Caterers as a waitress and bridal attendant and I cannot say enough good things! The staff is amazing, do not worry about one thing... the maitre d is amazing, the wait staff is wonderful and the food is truly much better than most catering halls. Such a charming place. I hear ya about the ceilings, my only thing I would change about that place.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went for my tasting and final meeting today and everything was amazing! They gave us so much food... they even sent us home with stuff. We got to see everything set up because they were having a wedding there today. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I can't wait...3 weeks to go!

Yesterday, FH and I spent the day with his mom and stepfather out on the North Fork. We wanted to show them the Vineyard Caterers. I had called in advance and John, the head Maitre D answered the phone. He said 'NO problem, c'mon over... We have a wedding going on but just come over before noon and you'll be fine.'

We were greeted with John at the door who not only took time to show us around, he also offered us wine and answered any questions my FMIL had.

We then had lunch at Cooperage Inn and then checked out several other restaurants for RD. Totally bummed because the one place I FELL in love with was already booked for our date. However, we do have two other contenders but I have to admit, I am a bit sad about the first place! It was SOOOO beautiful. But I have to remind myself, it's only the RD, not the wedding.

Anyway, for the Vineyard Caterer brides out there, we are in GREAT hands!!!

Good to hear that there was ANOTHER great experience @ VC!!!! Does anyone else LOVE LOVE LOVE John??? Like, I want to take him home with me when I leave there He is just so intuitive with what is necessary to make people feel comfortable! And, who doesn't love being called Boobie!!!

I'm using Flower Michele. John knew everything about the VC and he knew everything about the church I was getting married at including the # of pews and that the front doors of our church had two nails that we can hang things off of. I was impressed.
Also, John knows the John very well. (maitre d)

Anyone else not love the TULLE that is on the stairs? I wonder if we can take it off....
