Hi Vineyard Caterers girls! I know there's a few of us on here but there's not much of a VC presence on LIW so I wanted to start this thread. Who are the VC brides and what day are you getting married??

I'm using Flower Michele. John knew everything about the VC and he knew everything about the church I was getting married at including the # of pews and that the front doors of our church had two nails that we can hang things off of. I was impressed.
Also, John knows the John very well. (maitre d)

Anyone else not love the TULLE that is on the stairs? I wonder if we can take it off....

i also don't like the tulle (or those white flowers) and was hoping we can do some 'redecorating' (within reason, of course) for our day.

I feel the same way. I wonder how we can approach it...

I also thought, since we're not getting married at VC, if they would be willing to be chairs and tables out on the grounds so people can wander during the cocktail hour.... I thought it would be a nice touch and give the guests an opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds...

I sort of feel guilty asking about redecorating and changing the things I don't like. They're so wonderful there and I would hate to offend. I think the outdoor chairs and tables are a WONDERFUL idea! That will add so much more of an outdoor element if it's a beautiful day (which it will be!). Let's brainstorm and work together on this to find a good approach

I KNOW. They are so nice and they make you feel like they are welcoming you into their home... I feel so bad asking about changing around the tulle but some major pictures will be taken from those stairs (first announced as Mr. & Mrs!)

John from Flower MIchele is going to take our alter arrangments and put them at the base of the stairs. Take away some of the fake white flowers.

I am praying and hoping that it will be a beautiful weekend!!! Last September 20th it was gorgeous 70 degrees!!!

Are you doing bathroom baskets?

Was Flower Michele familiar with VC? When I met with Pedestals it seemed I had to fill them in on too many details and I'd much rather use a florist who can tell ME what I need, versus the other way around.

I just asked my mother about bathroom baskets this morning! She said waste of money but I think VC is the PERFECT place for something like that considering it's one wedding at a time. Really would be such a personal and thoughtful touch.

I actually already mentioned that I didn't like the set up on the stairs to John... I think I said something like 'it reminds me of a funeral with all those white flowers' and I'm pretty sure that his answer was something to the effect of that is what they leave when the bride does not want to have her own decor up there.... I'm planning on getting roping garland type stuff with hanging grapes (kinda like whats on the cieling in the cocktail hour room) and the two large floral pedestals for my outdoor ceremony are going to be put at each side of the bottom of the stairs NO FAKE WHITE FLOWERS!!! I personally did not like those at all As far as the outside tables, I asked about that also and its a GO ~ Just ask... they are so incredibly accomodating

Yes Flower Michele was very familiar and had done many weddings there AND Jenn at Verbena Designs also knows the vineyard caterers very well. She is amazing also. It was a close call. The reason why I went with John is that he knew it so well that he even knew that VC puts out there own flowers during cocktail hour and didn't try to push me on flowers for CH..He's like 'don't spend the $$. I know they put out daisies or sunflowers during the CH' I thought that was so nice of him.

I think i am def. doing bathroom baskets and maybe asking them if I could like some candles in the bathroom. ( I love the yankee candle wedding scent)

LOL!!! I'm so glad that you told that to John. My lighting guy actually had a great idea. He thought they should get rid of the mural that is painted on the wall and then for each wedding have a gobo light of the couples name on the wall. I thought that was a pretty idea!!!

I'm actually feeling good. I've been pretty low key throughout the whole wedding process. I think it's just my personality. I can't wait to get to the weekend.

Thank you! I will definitely post a review. We have a week between the wedding and honeymoon (I'm a teacher and have to wait for spring recess), so I'll be on to post pics.

Not too much left to do. I think I felt the most stress around the 3-4 week mark. I still have to...

-fax over the seating chart tomorrow
-drop off stuff to the RH and pay during the week
-meet with the florist one last time to see a sample and pay (ofcourse)
-finish writing out the place cards
-finish OOT boxes and drop off at hotel
-wrap BM gifts (and finish making DIY necklaces)
-finish DIY donation favor bookmarks
-put together tip envelopes
-rehearsal dinner on Friday

and make some last minute phone calls to make sure everyone knows where to go and when.

Ok, when I put it in list form, maybe I'm a little stressed. And I'm sure that's not all of it.

You've been married:
3 Days 3 Hours
44 Minutes 2 Seconds

I'm married!!! Everything was amazing. Vineyard Caterers went above and beyond. John was so attentive from the second we walked in. The guests are still raving about the food. Unfortunately we had to do the ceremony inside because the weather was questionable. They had the outside all set up just incase, but at the last minute decided to do it indoors. It was fine. Actually it was nice and intimate. I don't have pics yet, but will post them as soon as I get them. We're not going on our honeymoon until Saturday.
