i'm thinking about using mason jars instead of the glass vases for CH since they have a little more character and cost next to nothing. i want to talk to bill about flower choices though since i'm an anti-rose girl too

I know that VC offers something for the piano but i want an arrangement there that i've picked out. I sort of feel like its the first impression on the venue and I want it to be a good one hahaha. I'm not doing anything for the CH room, I really dont want to spend more on flowers, i feel like its SUCH a waste.

We saw the most AMAZING CP at the extravaganza last night, cant wait for naomi to post pics!

I will not be adding to the CH. It's only an hour and people will probably not even notice the centerpieces. I don't want to put anything in the windows. What if it's windy or raining? What if the flaps are down? It would be a waste and I really can't afford extra arrangements anyway! I also want people to look at the scenery, not flower arrangements. I feel that room is gorgeous on it's own and people will be more interested in each other and the food after their initial reaction walking in.
I've never seen the arrangement for the piano! I wonder what it looks like. If I don't like it I'll probably do branches with paper cherry blossoms on them. I'm making my own escort cards out of LI wine corks and paper butterflies and dragonflies. I'm still in the experimenting stage, but here is the first one I made:


They will actually be smaller, and the writing will be more balanced taking most of the space of the wings. I'll post pics of my final design once I achieve it!

lets talk table cloths again....does anyone know where to find the organza table clothes that have that design on them? I saw them at a showcase adn LOVED them? I think the design was almost like embroidery but not?

I have 5 bridesmaids and I think it is going to be too much time to have everyone done by the same girl who's doing my hair.

My Aunt and one her her friends (both beauticians for over 20 yrs) are doing my hair and my bridesmaids. I have 10 BM's so i also hired another girl so I have three girls. My Aunt is excellent tho and will come to the house, and she is reasonably priced. If anyone wants her number to call her and discuss prices and whatnot let me know!!!

Thanks everyone!! My family has a 'summer house' just down the block for VC, so I will most likely be getting ready there.

I am mostly concerned with prices, don't want to have the bridesmaids have to shell out a ton of money for hair, they won't be local so they're going to be looking to me for options.

Any names of salons you can suggest would be great!!! I'm not from the area. Also SalsGirl, your Aunts info would be great, does she have a website or anything? Thanks again!

i haven't picked my hair person yet, but i know that whoever it is, i'll have them come to the hotel to do our hair. i have the MUA coming to the hotel too. did you consider looking into something like this? i think some people who travel to you are still reasonably priced.

Yea my people are all coming to me... its our day!!! We should be pampered and relaxed and not traveling until we have to lol

I agree it'd be great to have someone come to the house and thats definitely an option. I've just been in bridal parties where they have one girl doing 8 heads and it takes FoReVeR!

I have someone coming for my hair and and someone for makeup who could get everyone done, I thought it might be better to have everyone get it done at the same time at a salon!

Another option would be to get an additional hair/makeup person. Aaaahh! too much to decide!

I have 12 people getting done at my house, and i think it should be fine, i have 3 hair girls and 2 makeup girls. But its just based on really what you want

if you have the girls stagger between hair and makeup it shouldn't be so bad. while they're waiting they could eat breakfast or have a mimosa lol
