good call with the thread kedra! i was reading through the old VC thread the other day, but it was from like 2 or 3 years ago

i'm going to find out about covering up that mural on the staircase from the florists i meet with. it's not my style and i don't want it in the pictures of us making our entrance lol

i'll be doing uplighting too, just not sure if i'm going through VC or the DJ.

i think i'm going to do low centerpieces...since i'm embracing the wine theme, i picture having stacked wine crates filled with a floral arrangement. we'll see what the florists say!

who is everyone using for a florist?
where is everyone spending their wedding night?
we live 10 minutes away from VC but no way are we coming home!

I just did the hotel block at Hilton Garden Inn...they were very reasonably priced and Megan in Sales was SUPER nice!! Only problem is no bridal suite!

I may end up using Be th pa ge Florist...they are the florist at work and they said they'd give me a great deal but I have to figure out what i want first haha

LMK what you find out about the mural...you know how i feel about it hahaha.

IDK what to do with the CP's...maybe something low....hurricane stuffed with grapes and flowers...hahah idk

I'm using b urtons. And I am using ash berries to give a grape feel to the centerpeices and bouquets and wine bottle favors.

I never thought about covering up the mural. I don't know how you would do it but let me know!

My inspiration board!

I want to pick my dress and BM dresses before meeting a florist. I don't want roses or calla lilies, I want flowers that are different! I'm hoping to get away with less flowers by using bright colors for a larger impact. I want to do wine corks as escort cards, hopefully the writing will be on a paper butterfly on top of the card (as long as I can attach it without the glue being all globby on the side!). I don't think we will add any decor for the ceremony, it seems pretty enough as it is. And we won't add to the CH.

I live and work in riverhead.
before you take a trip out make sure to call first, yesterday they were still doing MAJOR renovations!!
they are also opening a hotel right next to the acquarium. not sure what it is, but they have broken ground.
I am also using uplighting through VC. not sure if we are going to keep it one color or change it.
i'm going ot use the standard ivory linens but prob change the color of the napkins to Kelly Green which is the color we picked out for BM dresses!

What colors are everyone doing?

I am so happy this thread was started I have spoke to many brides but no one ever getting or got married at vineyard caterers! I did not even know there was rainbow cookie cake! that sounds awesome. I have not done a cake tasting yet...should I have already? my engagement was so long and now its here and I guess iI really should get on things! are you girls keeping the same white linens or are you changing them?

Have you gone for a tasting at all at VC??? They give you the cake then!! The tasting is amazing!!! You get SOOOOO much food!!

I havent thought about linens yet, but i'll most likely keep them as is so they dont clash with my CPs.

I couldn't get my inspiration pics to post I am new to this sorry. I am doing high centerpieces mostly in purples and blue with alittle green and pink added in. I am using VC uplighting and it will be set to a purple color. I also want to use them for the wine bottles b/c it seemed relatively cheap. Has anyone looked at the new hotel Indigo out east? It was supposed to open this summer and the pic online makes it look like a city chic kind of hotel. I am probably going to take a trip out there this summer to take a look at it.

i think hotel indigo is pretty expensive...kedra- you got pricing from them, right? i feel like it was insane.

i think i'm booking at the hilton garden inn, and will rent the conference room to get ready in (since there is no suite). i'm going out there on saturday to look at the rooms.

i can't wait for the tasting...i'm not really sure when to request this. i think bill said there are a ton of linen choices, so i want to take a look at them. maybe when i'm out there on saturday.

I did do a tasting a LOOOONNGGG time ago but bill wasnt there some other guy was and I asked about cake and he told me I have to come back and do that closer to the wedding. Now I need to call bill I want some cake! lol Also the wine corks as place card holders I saw in a magazine and loved! Where are you getting yours or are you making them?

I have a feeling that VC might have the corks but if not you can get them on ebay for SUPER cheap but then you just have to cut the bottom so they dont roll and then cut the slit in the top for the escort card.

Yeah they served dessert at the tasting..soooooooooooooooooooo good!!
