I have always thought about a winter wedding and don't want to be dealing with humidity on my wedding day! I like the idea of fireplaces and hot cocoa lol. My sister is getting married in July and my fiance and I didn't want to wait until 2011 to get married. I also work on a school schedule so we plan to honeymoon the day after xmas thru new years. Speaking of honeymoons- where is everyone going? We are thinking Hawaii, Australia/Figi, or Aruba. I just want to make sure I will be able to lay on a beach!

That's EXACTLY why I chose one of the colder months! I would have done later in November but then it gets close to Thanksgiving and my birthday and also my brothers birthday.
One of our favors will be cocoa cones! I can't wait to make those... I already bought the bags... I'm just waiting to purchase the hot cocoa until it's closer to the date. I didn't want to give out old cocoa!
We are going to Bora Bora and Moorea for our HM. And year round... you can lay on the beach!!!

I found them on here. Some girl wrote cocoa cones.. and I didn't know what they were so I asked and she posted a pic. I don't think I have her pic anymore. SO I went looking for them.
Honestly... if you buy them they are SUPER expensive!!! One site I saw them for $10 EACH!!! So I decided to make them. I found a website that sold the cone bags... and I bought those for like 45 cents each. Now all I have to do is buy hot chocolate mix in bulk (thinking BJ's or Costco) and a ton of marshmallows... and also some chocolate chips.... and put it all together for a fraction of the price. Oh and tie with a ribbon and a cute little note.
I would do chocolate shavings... because I know how to do that (used to work in a bakery as a kid) BUT finding a block of chocolate big enough would be hard to find and expensive. So I just figured I'd do the choc chips.

I looove that idea of the cocoa cones!! soo cute!
We basically decided on the winter b/c the prices are amazing, FH hates the heat (even though he's from Puerto rico) and holiday time is a better time that most of our friends and family from out of state could make it!
I just hope NY is as much fun in the winter for everyone as it would be in the summer!

I love the first cake. Since my wedding is near xmas, I think I want to do an all white square tiered cake with gold ribbons up the sides to make it look like presents. I want to add a few xmas/winter touches but I don't want to go overboard. I am so excited to have a winter wedding! are you going to have your bms wear shawls?
I'm thinking of getting ivory colored pashminas for each of the bridesmaids....I still haven't picked out their exact dress yet so i guess it wll depend on the style too!
I did this, got them on street for city for $4/each
