I am asking a family member to preside over the ceremony. He is a methodist Minister upstate, and my great-uncle. Sinec I will be getting married in a methodist church, they said there would be no problem with him presiding over the ceremony, and I think both he and my pastor at the church will sign the certificates, just so there is no question about legality...

I wanted my brother to actually marry us, but FH made him a groomsman. When we were looking into it though, we found that anyone can get ordained to marry a couple. You can do it on-line and it is perfectly legal. In most cases, all you have to do is fill out a form and send in copies of identification and an essay.

we too are looking for a family member to become ordained to legally marry us. have done a quick search online and there seems to be several places that will help you through the process for a nominal fee. trying to look for someplace legit and the least amount of trouble and work. has anyone seen a website that looked promising?
