For the people using Rev. Joe DiVincenzo or Rev. April, do either of these officiants hold a rehearsal? My FI and I want to have a rehearsal the night before our wedding and our reception site will not do one there so we want to have one on our own. Will these officiants do one with the us, the bridal party, etc the night before the wedding?
I am using Rev. April, and she is willing to do a rehearsal before the wedding. We did not ask about the night before specifically, and since ours is a small wedding (no bridal party) we are also not having the rehearsal dinner thing the night before. I've found her to be very flexible and helpful, and I am going to ask her to rehearse the vows, ceremony, readings etc. with my fi and I.
Julykbride: are you getting married at the Watermill? I believe they said they will run through the ceremony a week before??
I am getting married at the watermill but no one will be around a week before the wedding so we wouldn't be able to do the rehearsal then, including myself and my FI. All of our wedding party is from out of town unfortunately. How much does Rev. April charge?
She charges $300. I'm surprised that the Watermill cannot accomodate, did you ask them what they can do or what they suggest that you do?
Actually I didn't ask the Watermill if we can rehearse the night before my wedding there. I just figured they wouldn't let us as the night before will be a thursday night and it will be July 3rd so I figured they would have weddings going on during the time I would have the rehearsal. I guess I can always ask. Who do I ask the party planner or the banquet manager? Thanks for your help Nina!
I ended up not hiring Rev. DeVincenzo, but I think he was open to the idea of a rehersal dinner, but couldn't promise when that would be. As I remember, he said it would depend on his schedule closer to teh event, but that he & his wife Judy would definitely hold a rehersal in their home with the Bride & Groom to-be a month or so before the weddding.
We hired Rev. Marcia Grace. She also goes under the name The Arc Interfaith Services. She advertizes in the LI Wedding Pages. She was super nice, very flexible & seemed interested in getting to know us. She was just more our style than Rev. Joe. Our wedding is still not for a while (8/31/02) so we haven''t actually put our ceremony together. Good luck.
