Re: Officiant Prices

the church is expensive, one priest told us 400 dollars for him and 70 for the organ player... ummm I thought it was supposed to be their service to the people

I haven't even looked at officiant prices, but I think over $300 is insane! The fact that you guys can't find one for under that scares me, lol

I know the 'suggested' donation to the church is $500!!!

I know it is insane girlies! Then if we want to get married at De Seversky there is a site fee so it is cheaper to get married at the church. I am religious and am looking forward to the ceremony but I don't understand why it has to be so much. But oh well.

LP, I feel your pain! When we did our initial budget, I had NO idea how much it was. SO I put in $100.00. I was totally shocked when I started hearing about $300-500 plus the singers and organists and tips! it helped us decide to get married at our hall as opposed to our Church (besides all the other problems it would cause). But even so, the $500 for the officiant i think is too high...

I still can't get over how much the church will cost us...it is totally insane

I hate that they call it a donation!! It's a payment plain and simple.. If it were a donation, they wouldn't get $500 out of me for 20 mintues!!

HI Lady,

I'm home finally

I too need an officiant and haven't booked yet. Scared of those prices though, are you getting these prices from the officiants recommended on this website? I will let you know if I find one that is reasonable. Good luck

Re: Officiant Prices

We are paying $450 and that includes the organist. Even if we got married in the hall it would still be $500. Ridiculous!!!!

I know.......large fees and a lot of rules! We can't even have the photographer take pics during the ceremony.

What church are you getting married at?? Maybe you should befriend the priest and he can bend the rules.. Sad to say, but most priests will bend the rules if you give them more money.. Also, what can they do in the middle of the ceremony tell people to stop taking pictures??

Its crazy, mu church is costing 500 all together, 300 for the priest. It is absolutely ridiculous and then they have all their rules on top of it. My priest has a business card-give me a break.

Our 'donation' is $650 and out of that $150 goes to the organist
