OH MY! In doing my budget...

I realized that John and I are $6000 over budget!! Yowzers!!! I have done such a good job getting things on sale, finding cheaper places to purchase things. However, we're still over budget. I guess we didn't realize how expensive Aruba would be in January.

Oh well... may have to cut the slipper basket out now.

I am sure you can manage to cut somethings still!!!

If it helps, and this is what I told Dina over and over again...as long as you don't go into debt, it's all worth it! You won't regret a thing...trust me! We were $10K over budget and I would spend it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks Sasha! At this point, we have enough in the bank to cover it. I was just shocked to see how much over we are. No matter what, though, I am still getting the cigar roller for John. That is my wedding gift to him.

At the moment I am under budget but I still have a lot to do and worried that I will get over budget soon.

Not to be nosy, more for curiosity...how did you set up your budget? Did you just give a cap on what you wanted to spend or did you do a complete breakdown?

Honestly, if it's the HM that's throwing you over budget, then it's well worth it.
That's the most expensive item on our Wedding list. You guys deserve it.

It's all worth it in the end, as long as like what Sasha said, you don't go into debt.

FH and I are finding ourselves in the same boat. But, we will not let ourselves go into debt, so we are keeping a close eye on expenses.

We had a set amount in mind (for example $30,000). Then I figured out how much we would spend on thing max. I came in under budget for so many things (like my dress, DJ, flowers) and over on others (photographer, HM, rings). Initially they balanced each other out. Then what I have been doing is keeping track of how much I spend on anything wedding related (esp. all the DIY projects).

Thanks for the support ladies. As of right now, we'll be ok... and not in debt! I just can't believe I let my spending get out of control!

Don't worry sweetie, if you're not in debt you'll be fine. I think it's shocking when you actually see it on paper!!! A little more is not gonna hurt you at this point!! Plus you're so close, how much more can you spend in 18 days!!!

This, darling, is a loaded question! I could definitely spend much more $$$ given the chance!

Don't worry Hollie!!! Do like me...I'm viewing my budget as a STARTING off point of where I want to be!!!
Everytime it keeps creeping up, I just think 'well it's CLOSE to where we WANTED to be!!! ' God help us ALL!!!

If I figured it out right now, I might faint! like Sasha and the other girls said (and this is how I feel too) as long as you have the cash in hand, don't sweat it TOO much (but don't wipe yourself out either)

maybe for kicks I should do mine (though I think the initial budget I set was WAY too unrealistic for what we want)
