OH NO!!! Because I am overweight, I can't try on bridal gowns!?!?!?
Original post by hbradio
I was just reading on another board about a girl who went to try on wedding gowns and all the samples were size 8's. They said that they would order a dress for her in her size of course, but how would she know if she liked it or it looked good on her without trying it on?
Does anyone know how this works???

Priscilla of boston had a bunch of dresses in size 14 - so it was nice to try on things that would fit

Some places (like Macy's) the dresses are size 10. The assistant pins it together in the back so you can get an idea of what it looks like. You're right, they order your size....
Some people might know of other places (like Davids) that carry plus size....
I hope this helps
Macy's in Manhasset has a small collection of size 16 and up samples.
I am a 20 (not for long though, hoping to get back to a 14 again in a few months!) and I tried on size 12's and they pinned them to my bra so I could tell how they looked. Sleeveless dresses were the easiest to do that with.
RK Bridal has a nice collection of plus sized samples. Someone said Lillette's did too.
