oh no - she did it again...

(dont know if you remember but i HAD TO SHARE)...

i know i told you all about my new sister in law registering for the same china and using MOST of my vendors, etc......
WELL - now she registered for the same crystal and silverware as me!!! WHAT GIVES!

i know some of you ladies say copying is the best form of flattery but C'MON ALREADY

Nothing like individuality! That would annoy me too!

Re: oh no - she did it again...

maybe she thinks that you are supposed to have the same stuff as your relatives?????????????????

i have a friend who registered at forunoffs because i did. she told me that was the reason. that was weird enough but at least she did not pick the same things!

If noone has bought anything off the registry, can you change it? I know you picked first but maybe?

Freak!

Just kidding. I would be pissed too.. Id prob go as far as to change my selection... I know I know.. Why should I change if I picked it out first.. but that is annoying. Its the principal. Of all the china & stemware.. she picks yours?

Take it as a compliment....then tell her that you notice she likes all of the same things as you! See what she says. LOL

This absolutely stinks! Sorry to hear about this.

Just one question: Is this coincidence that you're both picking the same things or is she seeing what you pick and then doing the same?

If it's coincidence - both of you have great taste, and there's honestly nothing to do b/c neither one of you should have to change what you like.

If she's copying - I'd try to hide everything else going forward b/c it's just going to get uglier and uglier and more 'competative.'

I wonder if there's a way to test her to see if she's copying you intentionally or if it's just a freaky coincidence. Maybe tell her you're going to walk down the aisle to a certain song (not necessarily your REAL choice) and then see if she picks the same song or something like that?

Either way, I don't think it's right she's copying off of you.

That would annoy the crap out of me. I would lie and start telling her I was booking people I wasn't, registering for things that were ugly, you know stuff like that.

Actually, I like that idea........or at least do something similar to that. That will DEFINITELY tell you if she is doing this deliberately!

BTW, how is she your SIL? Marrying your brother, or is this FH sister? Does her future husband go and register for stuff with her. Has he not realized once that some of the stuff is similar to yours......if not, you should make a comment to him.....so hes not left so much in the dark.

Either way, she seems like a nutball.....

people that do that kind of stuff have no mind, no thought process, and they are so worried about what other people will think of them, that they copy ideas.
I have an aunt like that-everytime she comes over she steals an idea, she even started going to my hairdresser, she's just dopey and insecure. I know it's really annoying-I agree with what another poster said-DON'T tell her anymore details about your wedding at all, and if your have to give your FH misinformation, then that's what has to happen.

thank-you ladies....I KNEW I WASN'T BEING A B-OTCH, lol!!!

i love the idea about the aisle song!! i mean we are in the same family - we DO NOT need the SAME CHINA, silver, etc!!!

I agree that it's very strange! I would probably be wise @ss and say something like 'wow, I must have realy good taste since you are using the vendors I chose and even registered for the same china as I did'

Re: oh no - she did it again...

That is WEIRD. But on the bright side, if you have a big event at your house you know where you can borrow matching china, silverware and crystal! Or if soemthing breaks, you can 'borrow' from her!

what china and stemware did you select?? i want it too..

Sorry.. all joking aside, what did you pick, maybe it is a common choice??? i knew of a few people that got married around the same time and a lot of them looked SOOO much alike.. we chose wedgewood cornucopia, i have never seen anyone pick that one or another one too similar... yet... FH and I just LOVED it! And I want gold trimed stemware to go... with the silver color being IN, not sure that is common as well...

LOL Sorry but that's really weird. I could see 1 or 2 things but it sounds like she is going over board!

thanks again for understanding ladies!!!

Re: oh no - she did it again...

that kind of *****, but I have to tell you the flip side. . . one of my FH's best friends was getting married, so naturally, I asked the bride to be about vendors, who did she like, dislike, blah blah blah, the same way I do here. . . . and she wouldn't tell me anything!! turns out she didn't want to share her vendors! I thought that was kind of psycho, but I found that some of my friends were like that too! That's why I started coming on here- because so many of the girls I know got all weird and tight-lipped. I think my best friend is going to get engaged soon, and I started making a folder for her of all of my vendors. I mean, she's my best friend, if all of my vendors work out, I *want* her to book with them and have a good experience.

if it were my sisterinlaw or a cousin, I'd probably be pissed too.
