i almost forgot to tell my girls!!!! remember MONTHS ago i was worried about my schooling and what i should do with my life.. and then i took the entrence exam for the nursing program... and then i insisted that i failed... well then i got an interview and wasnt quite sure how it went well.... yesterday i recieved a letter that....
I WAS OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED TO THE NURSING PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and will be starting on March 12th!!! im soo excited i finally have my Sh!t together!!! im so proud of myself! so monday i took off from work. FH and i will be celebrating but going to our photo apts. and then out to eat at benihana!!!!
so anyway.. thanks for all the support back when i was freaking out and i almost forgot to tell you ladies the GREAT news!!

im so glad im not alone!! hahaha... i went to school for cosmetology in high school thought i would do that forever till i went out and got a job and quit with in a month cuz i hated it so much. went to school got my associates it.. hated school so i got a crappy job.. didnt like working went back to school... FBIL talked me into the medical field.. was scared so i started with medical assisting and just LOVED IT.. so my teacher talked me into taking the test for LPN and thats how i got here.. who cares if it took me 4 1/2 years!! HAHAHA i still laugh really hard when i realize how much time and money i wasted 'finding my way'

It's actually a good thing that younger people are beig attracted into nursing. Because all the nurses that have 20-30+ years experience are retiring! There are so many new nurses. Not that it's a bad thing for people to go back to school but nothing beats experience in this field. Anyway, my point is you will still be a young nurse. 6 years is not long in the grand scheme of things.

Dava your FH will do GREAT!!! its sad but true that Gaylords (like gaylord focker..AKA male nurses) make more then the woman but they deserve it.. my FBIL is a gaylord and well... hes AWESOME at what he does he totally inspired me to do what im doing and he works his tusshy off. Why should male nurses or any man make more money than women for the same job? And trust me it's not the muscle! Nursing is a lot of paperwork and you don't need to be a man to do that. Nurses and aides work together caring for patients but usually aides are hired for the bedside care. Of course this changes from facility to facility. Nurses hold a great amount of responsibility with everything they do. And sex should not determine how much you are worth to the profession.

i think they should make more for the lifting... i know that my FBIL is like the go to guy for all the lifting on his floor. so thats the only reason i feel he should get paid anymore. i only hear his side of things. sorry if i offended you!
ETA: if a woman is doing all the lifting then she should get paid more also it doesnt matter what sex you are. it should matter with the work thats being done.
