Oh to be a Buff bride
Ok so tonight I am trying something new in my quest to slim myself down for my wedding (about 1 yr from now)Tonight's attempt is Yoga
I will let everyone know (if you even care) how it was in case you were thinking about it.
What is everyone else doing to either get gown ready or just plain healthy?

Re: search for a bride's body
I am staying away from sweets and soda. Plus I might go back to the gym. I try to do pilates every night. That is what I am going to do.

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
I was doing some weights over the summer to buff up my arms and upper body. But since school has started I haven't been motivated to get back into the routine. Good luck with yoga!!

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
I got a second job that i run around at (new york and company) cause I sit all day at my other job. I also try to work out at home, but sometimes I just get to lazy. It is not good though. I am hoping to loose 2 inches so they don't have to let out any of my gown!

I'm so jealous you have a year because I'm down to 3 months and 30 lbs to go and Im at a loss!
Good luck! Yoga will help make your metabolism run quicker and help with other types of excersise!

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
The folks I know who do yoga say it is an incredible workout. One even does it in like a saunaesque room. This may be very telling of my Type Aness but yoga (and the forced relaxation) made me very very tense!

Me, too!
I was doing really well for awhile and now I'm doing the 'I'll start tomorrow' routine; I've been saying tomorrow for about a month now!

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
Perhaps I win for being most crazy (or desparate!)--I am on a 12 week (doctor supervised) liquid diet. I am allowed an occasional meal, which I do eat--but usually it is the special, vitamin-rich liquid shakes! I am also going to Curves 4x a week and yoga once a week. Believe me--I rarely moved for the first 3 decades of my life, so this is HUGE for me! I got measured for my dress a few months ago, and have lost 20 pounds since then, and hope to keep losing for December, when I have my first fitting. I know I will pay a fortune in seamstress charges, but I am looking forward to it!!

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
I just keep telling myself 'boot camp begins in January - that gives me 6 months to get in shape.' Think I can have Jennifer Aniston cut up arms in 6 months?
Nah - but I can get some tone back in them - they once looked good.Oh yeah, my exercise is about 15-30 city blocks per day.
I would love to be able to afford Yoga in a real studio - but 15 bucks per class is just insane.
Oh yeah, I also do the same exercise as this little guy about twice a week:

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
GO YOGA!!!! I am know I am now a Cali nutcase since I have lived here for 6 years but Yoga rocks!!! Unfortunately my studio just closed so I need to find a cheap place to go to. It will shape your whole body if you watch what you eat. It really works if you do power yoga four days a week.I just joined Curves in addition to the yoga since my body has adjusted to it and I am not losing anymore.

Re: Oh to be a Buff bride
Body for Life...... have done this program for several years now. The first time on it I was so happy with the results but I can fall off the wagon very easily (emotions rule what I eat). I have the Eating for Life cookbook and the meals are actually tasty. Right now I run everyday since I have my brothers wedding in 2 weeks and need to make sure I fit into the BM dress. Otherwise, 3 days weights and 3 days cardio, 1 day of anything I want to eat.
