Please take no offense, but if you didn't leave anything and their that messed up, your better off without them. You know what if my FH mother asked me opinion on abortion (my fh was adopted and is from a devout catholic family) I would tell her flat out I believe in a womans right to choose, and she would have a heart attack. I wouldn't be allow near the properity. My mentality is, good redences. I don't need to lie about who I'm to no one, and you should be proud of your FH for being able to stand up for himself.

I am very proud of both FH and myself for having our own minds. It's just getting very exhausting for the both of us to deal w/ their issues. It's getting very old, you know? All we want to do is live our lives and get married and not worry about this stupidity anymore. I keep telling myself that we only have a few more months...

And then when they get mad at us (for whatever reason) they threaten us w/ 'then we won't come to your wedding'. In both of our responses to his family we have layed it on the line...we had to, this is not a game. We told them that beore they say that they should think really long and hard about it because we will take it as an RSVP and their name will be crossed off the list. We won't waste money on an invite. I know that may seem like an ettiquate no-no, but you have to understand that when they realize that all other emotional manipulation does not work they resort to that and that's unacceptable.

sorry they ruined your holiday.

i learned from a past experience with my sister/moh, that communicating via email when angry words are written might not be the best idea. when you write out what you want to say they may not be received as you meant them, ya know? just a thought. ~lacey

Hopefully things will blow over. My FH always has problems with his family. They once wrote in his birthday card that he 'almost meets their expectations'. Nice right.

Thanks everyone. I know that there are a lot of people w/ problems out there. It's just that he has been through so much with these people...too much w/ them (it's amazing he is even associating w/ them!). It hurts me so much that they hurt him this way.

Don't be sorry, we've had issues like that too! Your not alone. Trust me! Try to relax, your an adult, they can't do anything to you or your FH except throw a fit, like what they are doing now.
