If you don't already have the church/ceremony site booked do that. Then, start looking at all your other vendors, photographer, florist, music etc.

You need to pick/book a church or place for the ceremony.

Then you can start thinking about entertainment and photography.

we did our hall search first, I called my church to find out if my date was available and they put my name in the book in pencil, then I went to the hall and when we found our hall we gave a deposit then the following day went to the church and gave our deposit and everything was booked.

now we are doing our vendors

I am also starting to get my BM's gifts and putting them in the closet, I got some stuff to go towards the centerpieces that we are making, and just some odds and ends stuff I pick up if the price is right.

We're going to do photo, then video, flowers, DJ and the limo's last. And whatever vendors go along the way

I am going Feb 22 to dress shop.

I would say it is never too early to pick a photographer. I started 8 months before my wedding and alot were booked.

I only had 7 months to plan- so I pretty much did everything in 2 weeks! It went something like this:
reception site
officiant
band
photographer
dress
bm dresses
florist
tuxes
limos
I just got the BM gifts now- I only have 29 days to go. I'm having my hair trial & make up trial this week. The good part about getting married in Jan is not all the vendors are booked! Everyone I wanted was available.
