Oh I love these stories!!!

Me and FH met in 11th grade history class. I wouldnt stoptalking to a friend in class so she moved me to the front right next to FH... we didnt start dating until a year later bc at the time we both had a sig other and have been together ever since!

We met 11 years ago at a club (LOL) and were friends for a year or two (he had a gf and I had a bf at the time). Then he called me one day out of the blue 5 years later and we went on a date (one date) and the timing just wasn't right for me. Then a year ago I was at a club and I ran into his cousin whom I hadn't seen in 10 years. I gave him my # to give to my now FH. His cuz didnt see him for a month but when he did he gave FH my # and he called me the next day. We went out the following night and the rest is history. The funny thing is, the night I saw his cousin, I wasnt even supposed to go out!! Sure glad I did!

My LIW username is a result of meeting FH - LoL- I'll explain.

We met on the track in high school about 5 yrs ago. It was winter track, so naturally it was FREEZING. My favorite running attire at the time was this big giant orange Nautica fleece (that I had stolen from a previous h.s. boyfriend. )
How could he NOT notice me in that thing?!?!

He ran over and blurted out an awkward 'Hey,' but I was too out of breath to talk back, so I just waved. After that day, I saw him around school constantly, but my immature 11th grade (he was a senior) self wouldn't tell him my name! He kept calling me pumpkin (the orange fleece), beautiful, shorty ('cause he has about 10' on me), etc. He asked me to his prom and I finally told him my name (He already knew it anyway, damn h.s. was so tiny!). Our first date was his prom, so I have soooo many amazing pictures to remind me of a day that I never ever ever want to forget.

I still had one yr of h.s. left, he was done. He knew that we had something pretty amazing going, so he put his plans to go away to college on hold for 1 yr and did his first 2 semesters at a local SUNY. The following year, we did the long distance thing - 3 hrs apart at 2 different upstate schools. Never had a breakup, the trust was always there. We are the only people we know that survived the 3 yr long distance thing with no breakup- we're proud! Now we're both back on LI, both living with parents (eek) and both killing ourselves by working and going to grad school - and saving saving saving to pay for our wedding so we can have it as soon as possible!!!

sorry, waaaaay long, but I'm never on this board - now you guys know a little about me!

He was my manager at McDonalds! Hey I was 16 you know....

We met when I was 15...He was friends with my best friends older brother...I had a hugh crush on him, he was always nice to me but in a kid sister kind of way (I was dorky still had my braces, glasses, acne ugh)...he moved away to Colorado for two and a half years and then out East with an ex...I was sitting home one Sat night when my neighbor asked me to go out for a drink...at first I said no bc I was already showered and in bed...when I thought about it I said 'screw this...its Sat night' I went and ran right into him the second I walked in...he didn't recognized me at until I started talking about people we both knew from back when...we talked til 4:00 in the am catching up and him getting over home much I changed...he asked for my number to take me to breakfast the next morning...that was two years ago - we've been together ever since

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... well, we met about 23 yrs ago.... a little more detail might help:

Both of our families immigrated from the former USSR in 1979. We were - 2yrs each (that makes us 27 now). We came from different parts of the USSR but we moved to Jackson Heights, Queens. Our families sent us to Yeshiva when we were 4 and we met in pre-school. We were in the same class. 2 years later our parents simulaneously transfered us to the local public school (PS 69) and we were in the same class for 1st & 2nd grade. We even have class pictures together. He says we used to play together but I don't remember him at all.

Anyway... fast forward ... we are both taking the E train to work in Manhattan. This strange guy keeps looking at me and then starts asking me all these questions about where I went to school and who I know and he knew my NAME I had no idea who he was... no recollection what-so-ever. We traded e-mail addresses and made plans to go out for drinks 2 nights later. We went for drinks and to make an already long story short - have been together ever since...

PerfectPair - that's a great story!!! I met my FH in Jackson Heights also! FH and I were both born there (we're both 31). My family moved to Long Island and he grew up in the Heights. When I graduated from college I got a place there and lived in Jackson Heights off and on for about 8 years. We ended up meeting while waiting for take out at La Portena - the argentine restaurant, on 37th ave. We now live together in LIC but always said that our first child, if it's a boy will be named Jackson - cause we love the name, but also cause we got together in Jackson Heights.

We were in a play together. The show was Victor Victoria. I was playing the dumb blonde, and he was playing the gay bodyguard. Needless to say, we were both cast against type

We were friends for a year before we ever went on a date. And the rest is history

These are such great stories!

Jim grew up in Montauk, I grew up in East Northport but we didn't meet one another until we were both at a halloween party in Virginia! We meet, I go into the bathroom for maybe a total of 30 seconds, his friend become violently ill so they rush out of the house and I open the door to an empty living room. I don't think much about it until the following morning when I'm walking into this grocery store and this guy from across the parking lot is just staring at me so much so that I decide to wait til he goes in so I can go the opposite direction. As he is about to check out, he realizes he forgot the cheese for his bacon, egg, and cheese bagel so he goes back to the cheese aisle (my favorite food) and we meet up. I write my phone number using a glossy lipstick (the only writing instrument I had) on the back of a receipt (which by the way, I later found out was a receipt from the OBGYN!!!! It was the only piece of paper I had)

We meet at my friend's boyfriends BBQ during the summer time.

It was a get together and we hit it off from the beginning.

The next day, my friend called me asking me if he could have my number. Of course I said yes and he called me the next day.

The rest is history!!

i had met this girl online like 5 years ago and just talked to her, we were good friends. i dropped out of school at albany and was staying with my parents in PA and met this guy... but it was about 2 weeks before i was about to move back to LI so i didn't want to start anything and i was telling my friend this and shes like hey, you should talk to mark if you're going to LI he lives in patchogue.

so we started talking online and then finally set up a date and you all know the rest.

she knew him because he dated this woman like 6 years ago that had a kid and the friend was her babysitter for some random reason he had kept in touch with the friend and luckily she introduced us.

funny thing is as i was getting ready for our first date shes like you're gonna get married, and ima be your BM! and all this stuff but was totally kidding.. little did she know a year and a half later i'd ask her to be my bridesmaid.

okay that was a really long way of saying we met online thru a mutual friend lol
