Re: Ok I am a chicken
I wouldn't let the family dictate who is in the bridal party or not. It's your day and you will be setting a precidence with them that they can call the shots down the road and throughout your marriage. Yes it will be messy and uncomfortable for THEM but obviously she didn't divorce/cut ties with you and the whole family. I had a similiar situation come up where Bob's grandmother got ****ed because I was still maintaining a relationship with Bob's brother's 1st wife. Too bad. It takes two people to end a relationship and she shouldn't be punished or judged by anyone because it didn't work out between her and your cousin. I would discuss it with her openly and ask her how she feels. If she feels that it would be best for her to step down, then leave the option open to her. It doesn't sound like the problem is with her as it is more with the rest of your family. I don't know if this is true of your situation or not, but it sounds like you are closer to her than you are with the cousin. You did say this was your marriage, right? Why shouldn't you have people there that support you and are a part of your lives? You can't please everyone, so don't bother trying. Best of luck sweetie. Family politics SOCKS!!
