I would just let her wear the short one even if it feels like she is being selfish. You definitely dont have to do this though.

Honestly, I would ask her to select a long dress. There are plenty of styles out there and she can find something that she can be comfortable in. If you are already paying for the dress and let her pick a different style that is the least she can do to compromise.

If she is absolutely opposed to a long dress, I would just let her wear a short one.

It would be important for me to have my sister as MOH. And since she is the MOH it wouldnt look weird if she had a different dress even if it is a different lenght. I would let her wear the shorter one if that will have her be the MOH

I dont think so... Since she's your MOH, you can totally get away with anything, without making it look weird. If she was just another BM, then it would look a little funny.

The dress that your sister picked is pretty, but the material of the dress looks completely different than the other BM dress.
Just for that fact, I would vote no to her choice. IMO the two different materials will look a little bit off. You two might want to try a compromise with a tea length, and a more similiar fabric.
If she is your MOH you can completely dress her in a different style and it will still look great. My FSIL was prego when her own sister got married and she wore an empire waist cut dress and it was flattering on her.

If she had a legitimate reason for wanting a short dress I wouldn't care.
I understand that you probably feel like you are constantly accomodating her, but if its important for you to have her as your MOH, who cares in the long run? It will look fine if her dress is a little different . . . and at the end of the day, its only the dress!!!
Her being your MOH is about her being there for you on your big day. I'd rather have my sister in a pink frilly tutu than have her not there at all. Don't sweat the small stuff. . .if thats what it takes to make her happy, I'd give in . . especially since she feels self-conscious being preggo, I'd let her wear what she feels her best in.

Honestly, once I hit 7 months pregnant, my ankles were SO HUGE that I would have given my left arm for a dress that covered my legs. Perhaps you can appeal to her by reminding her that her feet & ankles are possibly going to BLOW UP towards the end of pregnancy.
Here's a picture of my feet if you think I'm kidding (and want to scare her into a long dress)

I think it totally depends on how you feel!! I would not care what my sister was wearing just as long as she was there!! I could not get married without her by my side!! But on the other hand my sister would wear a garbage bag if i asked her to!! LOL

Re: ok i need advice quick (update with pic)
I am in the same boat---my sister is also prego and she is due 2 weeks after the wedding, so she is going to be huge!! She is getting a different dress from all the other BM's, they all have short dresses and she has a long one now. I just let her do what she wanted, I want her in the wedding party, so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. I see that you are a week before me, I would think that your sister being so far along and in the summer, she is going to be extremely hot--so maybe that is why she chose short. I can say that my sister is a teacher and her legs swelled up like crazy for her first baby, so she wanted long in case it happened again. I would see if she can compromise, but if it means that much to you to have her in it, I would let her pick what she is comfy in. HTH

I'd let her wear the short one...she is the MOH, so it wont be that unsual for her to be in a different dress. We have to pick our battles....if its important to you that she is there, then I'd just let it go and let her wear what she wants.

I would speak to her about it and let her know that I really want her to wear a long dress...if she's not willing to budge, I think that just shows how much she's willing to be in the wedding, and i'd decide from there..

i say let her wear it. that dress is cute and since she's MOH and is supposed to have a different style nobody will be the wiser.
