Have I gone on bridal overload? Does someone need to call bridezillas on me? Or is it an exciting idea?
I really really wanted a destination wedding, even a mini one in the hamptons. We thought it was too inconvient for our guest so we decided to have a place closer to home, Choosing the Met Club.
Now in almost booking our out of town guest hotel, our weekend hotel, our RD, Welcome dinner, after party & brunch....
I realized that it's almost like we're getting a weekend wedding, if we have all these events at our hotel.... And offer shuttel limos for our guest to the Wedding venue from this mansion, maybe guest that live over 30 min away may want to stay the night too (like friends in the city, westchesater, & eastern long island)... And what do you think of putting the BP up in the hotel for the weekend as their gift (we're having a small bp) that way we can all really enjoy the wedding weekend?

that sounds great.. and ur BP is very lcuky if u can afford to do that for them!!!... i was thinking about paying for their hotel also.. but i dont now if we will have the cash for that!

That's a really good idea! I was thinking of a DW but a lot of people important to me wouldn't be able to make it. But if you have a weekend in the hamptoms that would be fun!

I'm sooo excited about it. we were thinking of doing baskets/ bags of goodies, like better cigars, engraved flask & the guys fav liquor and a polo shirt w/ our monogram for the BP in myrtle beach and jewelery, , beach covers w/ our embroided monogram , w/ spa treatments at the BP in Miami, plus table service one night at Mynt... The hotel would be more economical for us plus make it more special

ok so you if you were in the BP & a weekend at the mansion was your thank you gift you would be happy? Or think I'm being selfish, having it bee all abut our wedding? Honest opions please.... I mentioned it to my brother (on of the GMs, His GF (soon to be his Fiance) will be my MOH, since I don't have a sister, and I'll be her Matron OH) he was like, Sweet Annie & I can both get trashed & not have to worry about driving!! I'm glad he liked it, but for the BP that lives in Glen Head/ Brookville, do you think it would be a waste since they live so close to it all? My brother & Soon to Be FSIL live out in Babylon....

I love the idea of a wedding weekend if you're up for it! We originally had decided on the Montauk Yacht Club for our wedding. We really thought it would be fun for our guests. Ultimately (along with other reasons) we decided though that maybe WE wouldn't be up for a whole weekend of our wedding. We wanted to be selfish, have some decompression time, and enjoy eachother on our first few days of marriage!!
But I think its a ton of fun if you have the energy!!

FH's bachlor party will be a golfing trip to Myrtle beach
MY Bachlorette Party will be in Miami
Our wedding ceremony &n reception will be at the Met Club, which is on the noth shore in an area that has been dubbed the Gold coast of Long Island...
Considering using GLen Cove Mansion as our OOTG Hotel, the place we'll stay for the weekend,
Have our Rehersal dinner / welcome reception, after party for the wedding in their lounge, and day after brunch
everything all weekend except for the wedding will be at the mansion (depending on how the appointment tommorow goes) We will provide lio shuttels for guest staying at the mansion to The Met Club...

Is the Met Club in Glen Cove? i didn't realize it was on the shore/coast. How nice!

not everyone, just our parents & the BP. The Gold Coast is techincally Great Neck to Commack. We live on the north shore (altho we're not on the water).. Maybe it's just a gimmick realestate agents use. When we told them the areas we're interested in they were all like ohh the gold coast how nice for you , then I reaseared Gold coast & found this out, it's been dubbed that for centuries, even old westbury is considered gold coast & there not on the water...
Hence waiting forever to get hitched since we want to be homeowners before we're husband and wife..
I know everyone keeps saying how low the homes prices are now, but if they can just come down a few hundred thousand, everything would be so much easier, lol
