wedding gowns and I don't know about it. Do all women over the age of 40 have a problem with this trend

Re: Ok.. is there something wrong with strapless
I was being sarcastic. A lady I work with kept saying it's strapless when I told her about my gown. The same way FMIL kept repeating about 5 times over and over again 'oh it's strapless' unless she's going deaf and I don't know about

I am over 40 and I think there is nothing wrong with strapless if that is what you want and looks good on you. Dont listen to other people. Its your wedding and your dress, wear what you like.
I hate when people give their opinions when not asked. They should mind their own business!!!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with strapless, it is all about preference Only thing I suggest is just make sure the 'girls' are held in nicely

Re: Ok.. is there something wrong with strapless
over 40 and wearing TWO strapless dresses (one I may make one shoulder but that's for fashion/vanity reasons).
I hate when people say if you are over a certain age you can't do something. As long as you look good in the dress, who cares if it's STRAPLESS!
I btw had opposite problem, I didn't want strapless and everyone pushed for it lol
I also hate when they say when you are over 40, you immediately have to get a short haircut .
Like 40 is a death sentence...

Re: Ok.. is there something wrong with strapless
I don't like wearing strapless dresses and it has nothing to do w/ age. I think if you look great in the dress, then wear it - strapless or not. My upper arms are chubby so I plan to wear capped sleeves..Even in junior high, I hated strapless dresses. My prom dress had short sleeves but an open key-hole style collar in the front.
One of my fears in strapless wedding gowns is this:
I had the opposite problem. The girls at David's bridal told me that because I'm young (23) I had to wear a strapless dress, because otherwise I would look too 'matronly', which is totally stupid. So don't listen to what anyone says you should or shouldn't do. Just wear what makes you feel good!

This is my worst fear. WHen I was dress shopping I made sure to buy a dress that moved with me. I want that thing welded to me!

I feel its just a personal preference that's all. Some people love it others hate it. Wear what YOU feel great in - that's all that matters...

Over 40, and wearing strapless. There is absolutely nothing wrong with strapless, nothing 'scandalous'
I would have preferred not to, because I have issues with my shoulders being very scrawny and my arms being on the chucky side. BUT...the majority of gowns are strapless.

first of all....all our 2010 brides are hotties..I don't care what age you are..second, wear a mini dress WHO CARES!! If it's your dream dress then wear wear wear. one more thing...my mom's dress for my wedding is strapless and she will be 50 by the wedding and never looked more beautiful.
